I did not call them by their religion because true religious people try to understand before they break. No one can even comment on their violence or their violent past without them going crazy. These people are litterly nuts. And I am sure you all are about to jump all over me because I will not bow and kiss their butts, I have freedom of speech also. I bet these people would like to kill all American women because we can state our views. I am one woman who will not bow to a religious fanatic. I will read you comments when I get back from my loving church.

I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household." (Matthew 10:34-36 NASB)

"I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!" ... "Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three."... (Luke 12:49,51-53 NASB)

Gospel of Thomas 16 (non-canonical) (SV) reads:
"Perhaps people think that I have come to cast peace upon the world. They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts upon the earth: fire, sword, war. For there will be five in a house: there'll be three against two and two against three, father against son and son against father, and they will stand alone."

At best, his family values were lacking.

How can a statement made by somebody else, so many years ago, which the Pope just quoted, make Muslims to start burning Churches, even the churches belonging to other denominations, who are not Catholics. What is wrong with these people?

Simple question. Yes or No.

Please explain why they do or do not have a choice.

I do not need to know why they will not go to heaven, just need to know your belief as to if a Baby has the choice and why you believe so.

First I asked this question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgxVdj9tf_XlebMlJ4g.S1Dsy6IX?qid=20060917053616AAdapdu

As you can see, a lot of ridicule and very few who took it seriously (and thanks to those who did).

Then I asked this question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuDmT_oiWNmlzoo9F0w9BMnsy6IX?qid=20060917063950AA7FkiH

As of 19 minutes after asking the question, there were -no- answers (which would be a first for any of my 300+ questions).

Care to explain why the christians on the board this morning are having a problem with this concept?

Do you believe that the people who don't see no harm in these things are more than likely to have things happen to them?
For example, people who dabble with divination.

I'm interested in the concept of:

- Showing adequate "respect" for Islam
- Not offending Muslims

Partly because there are people who want to kill me if I do, but only partly. Like most people I'm a reasonable chap who doesn't want to cause undue offence (I know there are lots who do want to - but most don't).

Now, given that I am not a Muslim, I will not avow all the aspects of the Islamic faith that a Muslim would. I do not, for example, believe that Muhammad was a prophet. Nor do I believe that the Quran is true. These two criticisms of Islam seem to me to be inherent in the concept of "non-Muslim" - if I believed in the truth of the Quran and the prophetic status of Muhammad I would be a Muslim.

Now presumably Muslims would agree that I may follow any religion I choose (and anyone other than Islam implies the two statements above). However there are certain other criticisms that would be offensive..

Can any Muslim explain to me where the line is?

This is a follow up on my other question. People state there is a choice for someone of no faith. So if a baby does not yet have faith, do they have a choice of going to heaven or hell.

i have always been under the impresson that a "sin" is something that a person does that is not in accordance with the 10 commandments. i know right from wrong etc...bvut i have often heard people say "thats's a sin" for something that they personally do not agree with, for example, IF i saw someone going hunting, and i don't agree with hunting, is that considered a "sin"? that is just an example so please, no knocks about "what i have against hunting", i dont have anything against hunting or hunters, but, my question is, "by what authority can or does anyone label something that they personally do not agree with, a sin?"

OK, maybe someone can answer this to quell my rage. WHAT exactly is Islam teaching, that encourges shooting a NUN in the back! She was working in a Somoli hospital for Women and Children. Does someone's misinterpretation of the POPE'S readings, give license to kill, what most Christians would consider, a "living saint", truly doing GOD'S work? Oh, I forget, as Muslim /Islamics KILL, they are doing "their" God's work..."God is Great! God is Good". Isn't that what they chant as they kill? I realize there is no civilized answer to this, very long "question". But I had to vent! Thank you.

A cleric has called for worshippers at his mosque:

"to hunt down and kill whoever offended the Prophet Mohammed"

it seems to have been prompted by the Pope's remarks. What are we to make of this clerics argument, which seems to be:

"We are NOT a violent religion - anybody who says so will be killed".

According to bible, a christian is obliged to preach the gospel to others. But it also said that a christian should obey the government.

What will you do as a good christian if the government forbids you to preach to those who have had religion? What will you do if you are not allowed to preach/convert people by telling them gospel?

What is the bigger sin, not preaching the gospel or disobeying the government?
