a lot of religious leaders, yes, even christian ones have, out of personal gain abuse their position. using the name & ordainances of God to work the crowd to their favor. for any person even christian, always be wise & test the root source & motivation of the preaching that it given. one can decipher down to the core things of either good or evil origin.

the good ones are: love, peace, joy, faith, hope, selflessness, servanthood, humility, loyalty, honesty, etc

the bad ones are: greed, power, wealth, control, fear, condemnation, guilt, helplessness, money focus, sex focus etc.

ask yourself after you were under a leader's preaching, do you come out feeling peace or fear, guilt or hope and so forth.

Only a bonafide spiritual master, coming in an unbroken chain of disciplic succession which begins with the Lord Himself, can authoritatively preach the message of God. Why? Because without being in disciplic succession, no one can actually have information and a deep understanding about God and His will.
Today there are many bogus gurus. One has to be very careful when seeking for spiritual guidance. However, the characteristics of bonafide spiritual master are given in the authorized scriptures, such as Bhagavad-gita ( you can read it at www.bhagavadgitaasitis.com), and if one is sincere about really knowing and executing the will of the Lord, the Lord will guide such a person to meet a bonafide spiritual master. So if you are sincerely seeking Lord, don't worry. On the other hand, those who want to be cheated by following some concocted religious system and still think they are spiritualists, will be cheated by meeting a bogus guru or spiritual leader.

there are three ways to get control over people. the political, the military and the Religion. when those in control maintain producing what the population needs regarding Spiritual matters and all is going well control is maintained. when things of a Spiritual Nature start going wrong the population look for other leaders to replace those who are not fulfilling their Spiritual Needs. this process continues as the Culture and Societies needs are met. the Religious Leaders of the Culture and Society may have been originally chosen by THE GOD of the Culture and Society by some sign given but their control must be maintained by performance.

Not only religious leaders, but all humankind as well has been given the great commission. Whom will you offend, God or man? Look at what Peter and John did in the Book of Acts. Pray to God for understanding and guidance.

Well, before that question can be answered, you must back up and take care of one huge assumption ----- that there is even a God to begin with. If not, everything else is just a huge waste of time.

Nonetheless, I'll say that pastors in general probably believe what they preach. On the other hand, most televangelists are charlatans.

Some Religious leaders are appointed by God others are not .The Bible speaks of False prophets ,If you read the Bible and what the leader says and they are written in the word and NOT taken out of context when taught then I would like to think that God spoke to that leader .

Jesus said, "Go ye unto all the world and preach the Gospel (good news) to all men.) That's a command.

Sadly there are those who abuse the privilege. Jesus called them wolves in sheep's clothing (No, it wasn't Will Shakespeare that coined that phrase. It's a lot older.) He said, "By their fruits ye shall know them."

Do they rant about money? Do they denigrate those who do not give lots of it? Do they speak only and ever of the blessings of being generous? Do they come with their hands outstretched in fellowship or in hopes that you'll cross their palms with silver?

The bible is a collection of story's, written along time ago,
King Arthur is a collection of story's, written along time ago,
the same of Robin Hood.

We all would like to think that these are real story's, but we, generally, in the west, are educated and know they are just that, story's.

Religion...........any Religion..........are cults, first and foremost.

They need people to believe in them, other wise they would not exist,

For a seemingly intelligent Adult, to stand up, and preach something, that there is absolutely, and this goes for every Religion, NO FACT for, borders on madness.

Say, for example, one of these idiots went to court, on a speeding charge, and the prosecution made up a whole load of stuff, that there was no evidence for....the preacher would have a fit................."show me the evidence" he would rant.........as his charge was trumped up, there is`nt any.

So.... Religious Leaders have to keep perpetuating the same old drivel, over and over again............to keep it alive....you see,

We are ALL supposed to be preaching the good news. not just the leadership. the leadership is there to train the flock up in righteousness, so They can go out and do every good work.

I'm sure some of what you mentioned does happen, and it's horribly sad. but by and far, your wrong.

Most religious leaders are out for the money and the fame. They have no right to take advantage of people.
