How can a statement made by somebody else, so many years ago, which the Pope just quoted, make Muslims to start burning Churches, even the churches belonging to other denominations, who are not Catholics. What is wrong with these people?

It is ignorance and stupidity. I am sick of the muslims thinking that we should all stand back and admire their religion and to make supreme allowances for them and their ways. They are all brainwashed into believing their way is the only way, does their religion not preach tolerance? I think not, therefore its a brainwash cult effect thats going on. They whip themselves into frenzies over these things, like on the news yesterday, muslims in a muslim country were having a riot over the pope quoting the passage, why? if it was in a muslim country, no catholics are there to hear it? Its high time these people were clamped down on by the authorities and that they keep a lid on what they can say/do in public, they dont exercise many of the Human Rights in their own countries, yet expect the rest of the world to abide by them where they are concerned. Cut their right to assembly, the rights state 'peaceful assembly' they are never peaceful in their assemblies, burning effigies, is highly offensive, yet they are allowed to get away with it. the Pope and George Bush should take serious action against them where their effigies are beign burned in streets, can't get anymore offensive as that! The muslims dont practice freedom of speech within their own societies, nor do they abide by the discrininations rules, yet they want the rest of the world to cowtow to them....time they were put in order........

You know its just getting tiring saying that this is only a small minority of Muslims, that most are peacful, reasonable people.
You know I just haven't got the energy for it anymore and, in the abscence of any movement within Islam to condemn and work against such acts I'm pretty soon going to have to give up and say that its not madness, ignorance or stupifity - its just Islam.
Come on "normal" Muslims: prove me wrong!

The Pope's statements fail to indicate why he is making the point about Islam, implying that he belives the points he is quoting. He has reinforced this implication by not denoucing the statement, only acting confused and apologetic about the reactions to them. I don't even understand how someone could look at the evidence and ask your question.

There are so many different religions and beliefs. Some people are confused and think their beliefs are the only and right ones and they own religion. These people are stupid and ignorant, which is kinda the same thing and madness just follows!

It goes to show, how Religious Leaders have got there people by the short and curlys.
It shows Glaringly, the people are taught, to live in the past,
They talk of infidels and crusaders and Zionists.....errrr, sounds medieval to me.
All wars, bar a few, are fought because of Religion......

demonstrations against the Christian Belief System who do not agree with the Muslim Belief System. they might be doing these actions to make the average person realize how much of an insult this was to The Muslim Faith.
