I attend a Bible believing fundamental Babtist church. I love the church and the preaching, but I have a few questions that I've been studying for quite awhile, but I still don't have an answer too. I don't want to ask anyone at church just yet for personal reasons.

1. Is there any direct reference in the Bible to dressing modestly that would require a woman to wear dresses all the time?

2. Do you think the Bible and God wants us to totally abstain from alcohol?

I need persuasive arguments one way or the other with scripture to back it up. Without the Bible to refer to the discussion is mute to me. I believe the Bible is the Word of God and I'm looking for the answers in the Bible. I have found some answers I seek, but I want to make sure there isn't something I've missed.

The Bible prophesized the sun would come up this morning in the East. It did.

Does this mean we should worry cause the Bible is the word of God?

Apparently the newspaper did also make this prophesy, so Chicago Tribune IS ALSO the word of God.

Praise be?

With this poor guy, Lazarus? But 1cor. 15:20 says that Jesus was the first to be resurrected. First born from the dead.
Col. 1:18 says the same thing so that he can be first in all things.
Resurrectons had occurred before but only to life on earth, never to go to heaven. Jesus was first in that. Those resurrected on earth had to die again. Is that just an Illustration? Matthew 13:34 says he spoke in illustrations. What was he illustrating?

On Saturday night I went to a concert and saw a pig fly! Later on, I heard a soloist sing a song with such raw emotion, it brought me to tears. Should I be concerned because the song was 'The Great Gig in the Sky'?

There is someone in my family who is a real jerk. He has hurt me and many others in my family, and I mean he has hurt us deeply. If I even started to go into how he's treated us, it would fill up this page.
But anyway, I know I'm supposed to forgive him. And there was a time when I did get over it and had moved on. But now he's in a place where he needs help, and my mother is pressuring us to help him. The other day I actually be nice and help him, but it's just too hard. He still has the same attitude and thinks I should treat him like royalty. I get no phone call, no thank you, no nothing.
I can forgive someone for th past. But how do you handle someoen who makes you mad every time you see them?

Leviticus 15:19-30
And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even. And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.

Jesus was born in a stable attended by kings, which were accually the High Priests of Zoroastrianism. Then he was talking with the elders at the age of 12. Then he appears at the age of 30, what did he do in the meantime. It seems if all these people and angels were at his birth, and he could argue scripture at 12, peop[le would keep track of him. Don't tell me it was god's plan, that is a cop-out.

There are those that say that this is all it takes to be saved and worthy of heaven. The same people oftentimes say that once you are saved, you never lose it. Also, these guys claim that there is nothing you can DO to bet into heaven (because it's by grace we are saved, but not works lest any man should boast). Well I know they mean well, but they're WRONG!!!

Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior entails more that a verbal request. It requires more than a prayer. It is a complex process that DOES involve conduct. If a serial killer asks for Jesus's forgiveness and invites him into his heart, then continues your bloody streak through New York City until he's killed 10 years later, HE IS NOT NOR WAS HE EVER SAVED. If you accept a free sandwhich, but you do not eat it, then you didn't actually get a sandwhich.

Anyone that is serious about accepting Jesus WILL AT LEAST TRY THEIR BEST TO UPHOLD THE COMMANDMENTS and the other laws of honorable conduct found in the Bible. PERIOD!

Before Jesus (Old testament) God told man to go out and conquer. Kill your enemies even unto the women and children and raise the ground so that they wouldnt ever come back. In the new testament he tells everyone not too. Its like a total reversal of his word. Is this a mistake made by man in writting the bible? I cant really see God saying kill everyone and then in next breath saying save everyone. It seems like a double standard. Please those with knowledge answer and those who just want the points take them and go. I am a believer with questions. Thanks

I direct this question to those who say or believe that there was a time when God chose to cease being everywhere and chose to be somewhere.

For the action of incarnation, or rather the laws of incarnation would want one to be finite-even if it be God-thereby negating the attribute of His Infinity, hence His "Godness!!"

By this simple urgument, can anyone briefly tell me if there was a time when God ceased to be God.......and if so, who ran the show in His brief absence, controlling, directing, coordinating, blessing, protecting the universe ........infact all life?

Or did He leave someone, a deputy to take care of His creation while He 'manifested' Himself to the world?

Plse note that action, any action for that , involves motion in space and time: the brief moment when God chose/chooses to 'cease" being God so as to come into the world would entail motion in space and time.....which infers that Infinite Spirit is also subject to constraints of space and time!!!!

Are they that afraid of goodness and love, or just so perverted by the world?

I am asking this question because the ones who are going to heaven according to Revelation 5:10 says: " and you made them [people going to heaven] to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.” If those being 'kings and priests' in heaven going to rule over the earth with the Lamb [Christ] then why are many people being taught that people will go to heaven and the earth is to be destroyed? I thought the Bible does not contridict itself, or maybe the teachings are contradicting the Bible? Something to consider Jesus said at Matthew 5:5 "Happy are the mild tempered ones for they shall INHERIT the EARTH." In order for them to inherit the earth, the earth should stay, right? I never knew the literal earth commited sins?
