On Saturday night I went to a concert and saw a pig fly! Later on, I heard a soloist sing a song with such raw emotion, it brought me to tears. Should I be concerned because the song was 'The Great Gig in the Sky'?

Oh yeah... I was there too... that was quite a trick watching that big pig doing loops and wingovers... the landing was a bit tricky though...

I wouldn't worry about being wrong... I would worry about getting the meaning of the song wrong, however... "The Great Gig in the Sky" was about going frog hunting from an airplane.

Was it Roger Waters? I think he is doing Dark Side on tour. Wish it was all of Pink Floyd though. Great Gig vocals are the rawest form of female wanting and lust. If I was a Christian again, I would be making myself believe that it is wrong, but then I would realize that it is just a song, a beautiful one!

No, because the members of Pink Floyd are atheists. They wouldn't want you to be thinking such things like god exists or something.

I too get this warm fuzzy feeling when listening to Pink Floyd. Especially the old stuff with Syd Barrett. Kinda like a musical orgasm. I think Pink Floyd is my religion.

No atheist here- but I do have to say- that you were wrong. If you have that belief.
You should be allowed to reconsider other possibilities.
such as the possibility that a greater power is working within you.
(were you ever moved to tears by your dark side?)
I doubt.
Good - will always prevail.

I once saw an illusionist levitate an elephant, so what? And just because you can be moved by a piece of music only proves that you have feelings. Whoever said athiests aren't supposed to have emotions. Celebrate it -- and repent not.

The Bible was written for the ignorant. It is a way to explain the universe to slaves and servants of the upper class. It was written by the upper class to keep the lower class subserviant. The stories are all based on Babylonian legends. God is basically existance and the universe summed up in one.

Just because someone is able to evoke an emotional response from you does not mean that what they say is correct. I cry when I watch the movie "Old Yeller". It's a movie. It is not real. I am not going to base my life off it because it made me cry.

It's a beautiful song and can bring anyone to tears.

As to whether you are wrong being an atheist, a song's not going to change that is it?
