It doesn't make any sense. How can God damn you to hell and at the same time be all forgiving and all loving?
Especialy if Jesus died for all our past, present and future sins. Than we have nothing to worry about when sinning, right?

Christianity should be good news! For people who follow it but also for everyone who comes into contact with them. Where did it all go wrong?
No one disputes the perfect morality of the core Christian ethics. So why is it, when i think of a Christian, i think of someone arrogant, rude, ignorant, irritating, socially inept, etc.?

(Dont give me biased answers that are arrogant, rude, inept etc. I really do want to know why you think something with such beauty could have been twisted into something so ugly. Where did it go wrong, and how can it be put right?)

I have asked this question before but no one looks at the additional information. God is omnipotent and allpowerful, he knows everything in the past, present, and future and can do anything he wants. Why does he put people on earth, like atheists? He already knows before they are created wether or not if their going to hell. Don't say we have free will, cause i know we do. We aren't puppets either, i get that. I'm saying God puts people on earth that he knows are destined to hell. Like before an atheist is born he already knows that their going to hell.

Hate to ask a question; it's going to cost me five points but hoping someone has an answer.

Our neighbors are LDS and have an 8 yr old boy who was baptized within the last year. I am a Christian and attend a Baptist church and my daughter made mention of wanting to be baptized (which is great). But then she made mention of this kid across the street "already" being baptized (I've instructed her that being baptized is not a competition) and she said he "had an egg cracked on his head." Apparently, during the ceremony?

My question: Is having an egg cracked on one's head part of a LDS ritual prior to or during or after a LDS baptism? What is the purpose of it? Is it perhaps just a tradition that serves no religious purpose?

Don't try to convert me - I'm not interested. I strongly disagree with the LDS religion and consider it to be a heresy. But I would like the question answered nonetheless.

I've already checked out several websites and googled it w/ no success.

Thanks

As an infant or a kid we don't have much choice but don't you think that as an adult that we create and cause our own misery 90% and the other 10% is nature, something we can't control.

I amen means let it be or so be it which sounds like a commandment that god or jesus would be in line to say, why do we say it after all our prayers not even knowing what it means or where it came from??

It's mistifying. When something is clear as day, yet someone who believes in their religion so fervently that they refuse to see the facts before them. They come up with every excuse in the book as to why something occured or how something occured.

...that they are going to go to Hell for their beliefs, would God be angry with the religious person as He is the only person who has the right to decide who goes to Heaven or Hell at the end of time?

My mom has cancer and my sister who lives at home said that my mom was saying her deceased brother's name in her sleep last night. I always heard that people start seeing their deceased relatives when they are about to pass themselves. Is this true or a myth?

You believe in a book that has talking animals, wizards, witches, demons, sticks turning into snakes, food falling from the sky, people walking on water, and all sorts of magical, absurd and primitive stories, and you say that we are the ones that need help

If a theist expects us to consider that the bible contains "divine pre-knowledge" of some scientific facts then they should be willing to consider the apparent mistakes in such facts, right?

Kill Your Unruly Sons

"Suppose a man has a stubborn, rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him. In such cases, the father and mother must take the son before the leaders of the town. They must declare: 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious and refuses to obey. He is a worthless drunkard.' Then all the men of the town must stone him to death. In this way, you will cleanse this evil from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid." I don't know what's wrong with me and i wonder if you could express your opinion on this topic.. I've always been succesful in my life, i won "body and looks" competitions for magazines, doing well in my Higher education studies, am sociable etc... But the thing is I feel like I'm "in love " with myself... Is that possible? Can someone feel like that? It has nothing to do with feeling superior, I'm nothing like that.. Don't get me wrong.. I have a high self-esteem but I'm no snobby and I never hurt anyone in my life, neither emotionally nor physically ( well, except once -physically).. Am I really "in love" with myself or is there another desrciption to what I'm feeling?
