yeah they do all that. Run around jump scream and shout praising God. it is beautiful. I love God! sometimes people interpret when another speaks in tongue but not often. i agree it should be done mostly in private.

Yes. Psalms 66:1, Shout Joyfully to God, all the earth; Psalms 149:3, let them praise his name with dancing;... Mark 16:17" These signs will accompany those who have believed: in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;. The first two are a means of worship. Speaking in tongues is a gift given to us by the Father, via the holy spirit, The helper which Jesus promised. Tongues is a language between the believer and God, privately or corporately (when accompanied by an interpretation, 1 Cor 14:26-28.)

If you read the 2nd chapter of the book of Acts you will find that the Christians received the ability to speak in foreign languages in order to be able to share the message with those that speak those languages. It was a practical gift, because there were only 120 that had gathered in the upper room to worship that day and these had to spread the Good News to so many people. Whereas before they only spoke Hebrew dialects (and some spoke Greek as well), they could now speak to many diversified peoples.
Then Paul said that the gift of tongues would cease.
1 Corinthians 13:8 (The need to translate the word in that manner was no longer there, since there were more people who spoke the languages available.)

I've went to churches like that before. I believe in speaking in tongues as the SPIRIT gives utterance, but I also know it has to be in order with an interpreter. I also believe in obeying what the SPIRIT moves you to do. I am very cautious about speaking against such manifestations of the SPIRIT because you get in dangerous waters. Blaspheming the HOLY GHOST is unpardonable.

The church I attended as a girl had people who shouted all the time. I was scared by them. I often wondered when the assylum was going to pick them up, before or after everyone else left.

No it doesn't. People look at you strange in my church if someone prays with their palms up. I think some would drop dead if anyone shouted, danced or spoke in tongues.

No, but I don't mind seeing that if that's what people believe. Who am I to argue with them if they feel the power of the Spirit in them.
