I know about two dozen Muslims and, to a person, they are all kind, and honest people. Yet, when I watch TV, all I see are street demonstrations in the Middle East celebrating the death of Americans. Why do not more Muslims speak out against the violence of 911 or the London and Madrid bombings. If someone would dare to do such things in the name of Chrstianity, I would denounce them publicly and strongly. Where is the outrage that your religion is being used as a basis for terrorism? Please help me understand. I am sincere.

It asked whether Christians would want the religion to become nationalized, and I did not see any Christian who would want religion forced on anyone, because Christians understand it's free will.

Now if we abolished Christianity and all other religions, would that not make Atheism the dominant religion and thus would be a forced religion?

a christian is supposed to be aganst lying, stealing, cheeting,and killing. but bush has done all these things over and over. i am a chirstian and i know that christians should act like one. did Christ do any of these things? NO! we should act like Christ. i have never heard bush tell the truth even once, and i wach the news every day, i wach the congressional reports, i keep up with almost every event. and bush has lied at all of them. he has killed our moms, dads, sons, daughters, freinds, ect. by sending them into a war bassed on lies. he has done every thing he can to push gas prices up and is collecting off the oil. (stealing from the people, min wage is the price of 1 gallon of gas in most places). he has cheeted people out of their jobs by paying the companys to send the jobs over seas.

why do "christians" support a man like this?

Life gets us all down from time to time and we all need to relax and refresh. How do you choose to do so?
I prefer an Hour of Adoration, a walk alone in the woods, and sometimes just listening to music in the dark , lit by a candle. These are my ways.

First off, let me say I understand why religion developed; the fearful clung together under a set of similar beliefs and the more educated of the bunch created a doctrine for the rest to follow. From this came religous structre, icon worship, temple/church building other forms of religous property management, heirarchies and more. For many for a long time, these things were necessary, due to ignorance and disorganization. I understand this.

Now: today, we live in an age where man this means man and woman, black and white, gay and straight, etc. etc.) can build faith without the trappings of religion. They are not required of God in any faith. No scripture mentions that the faithful should be compelled to purchase candles and medals and statues and whatnot. In churches and temples, more is being said about how to be a member of your church than of person of faith.

Why? Shouldn't the sheapard truly lead the sheep, and stop fleecing them?

I would like to hear some examples of what you put in your BOS or how you arranged it. I have an unlined, medium-sized, leatherbound book to write it all in. Regardless of the faith of that retreat house or your faith, did you find the experience helpful ? Keep in mind that going off camping alone can be a retreat experience too. I am not speaking only to one faith.What did you find most restful about that experience?

My Title, that I Earned, along with my DD. (That's Doctorate in Divnity) AND my Ph.D are mine, and I will use them, is used as a title of respect applied or prefixed to the name of a member of the clergy or a religious order. ANY religious order. Not just Christianity. You can be Buddhist, Jewish, or even Satanist, and call yourself that, if you have the Ordination to back it up.

Religious cowards really are pitiful aren't they? I have nothing against any religion, just people with single digit IQs.

I don't know what to do! We're very close friends. Been friends for 5 years now. I can even say she's my best friend, maybe. She KNOWS me. Even knows things about me I don't know about myself. She's a good friend! But she confessed. Last night. We ended the conversation by agreeing that we'll just forget it, as if it never happened. I said I could do it, and would want to. She said she'll try. But now, I'm not sure if I can do it. And I'm tempted to avoid her.

prisons gaols and mental hospitals? I have read that in the USA the highest percentages of practicing Christians, after church congregations are to be found in prisons. It is stastically true that there are a much higher percentage of people with criminal convictions in a church congregation then in a random sample. Apparantly one of the places you are least likely to find practicing Christians is in post graduate schools. Does this mean Christians are more likely to be criminals or mentally ill? We have all seen the high degree of affinity that priests, ministers and other clerics have for paedophillial sexual crimes, and a week does not go by without some TV minister being charged with financial crimes. Is this a general pattern for Christians, ie that many are criminals pretending or deluding themselves as be goodly and godly as some kind of self denial for their criminality? If you say no, please explain these phenomena in (in a rational manner- no silly Bible quotations).

I was just wondering, be I have always heard that Gabriel was the arc angel or the keeper of the gates to heaven, but some other people have said that the arc angel is Micheal. and yet others have said that they are both arc angels witha few more arc angels in the mix.
