well I agree with the person who highlighted "when I watch TV". Its the media that plays this role. They do not show how Muslims live normally, they only show what they want you to learn about Muslims, feel free to ask your friends specific questions about Quran or Islamic teachings, feel free to write to me with any specific questions on haseeb_khwaja3738@yahoo.com

Let me respond, as a Christian, by asking this:
Why is it that more Judeo-Christians are not denouncing the violence against Muslims? You state that you would denounce people doing such things if they were Christian. I'm an American Christian, and I have to tell you, if you think Christians are NOT celebrating the deaths of Muslims, you are blind to what your fellow Americans are doing. Figures like Rush Limbaugh and others of his stripe publicly celebrate war against a Muslim nation and th eongoing death of its people, justifying it by simply calling them, without merit, "terrorists" or "insurgents."
That is really no moral high ground on which to stand. Until you are out there denouncing the war in Iraq, which has been nothing more than a war of conquest and occupation since the fall of the prior government and capture of its leader, you are failing your own test of "denouncing violence."

we do but the media wont show you that. and you have to understand that we as Muslims dont owe any one an apology!!!
Al Qaida does not represent us. and we too are Americans and 9/11 effected us more than it effected you. OK?
many Muslims Americans were lost on 9/11 as well as others.
we have to live with the discrimination and Racism and the insults of our fellow country men and women!! how do you think that feels? do you know how many Muslim lost his/her job after 9/11 for no legitimate reason? many!!!
but again we dont ought to apologize because we didn't do any thing.
people in the middle east hate if that's even the right word for POLITICAL reasons.
the US foreign politics and the support of Israel is the root of this issue.
and NOT Islam.
i hope this helps.
peace.

The violence is going top back to a dispute over who had non secular authority over the Muslim community after the dying of the prophet Muhammad in what's called the “fitna” which interprets as temptation or trial and brought about all the discord interior of Muslim community. Shi’ite Muslims have self assurance that authority became vested in his kin; the Sunnis look to the sayings and strikes of Muhammad besides because of the fact the Koran. the extreme sectarian violence has been introduced approximately by ability of Al-Qaeda Which mutually as being solely Sunni intentionally set Shi’ites and Sunnis to kill one yet another in Iraq. regrettably extra Muslims die by ability of Muslim palms each and each month than have been killed by ability of the invading forces interior the conflict! Hamas additionally kills much extra Muslims than the Israelis ever have! an basic of over thirty 5 Muslims each week have been being killed by ability of Muslims yet interior the previous few years it has regularly been over one hundred each week! regardless of if that's a Danish sketch, e book of fiction , a snippet of action picture or another excuse, Muslims hit the streets international extensive rioting, looting, burning and uttering dying threats! almost all the Muslim international places are seeing Muslims attack Muslims destroying homes, agencies, infrastructure and concentrated on women individuals and teenagers fairly exhibiting the extremists might desire to easily be attempting to coach Muslims into primitives residing in caves and airborne dirt and dust huts so as that they could be controlled extra actual!

"Yet when I watch TV . . .. "
Yeah, thats not exactly a world view on Muslims. It's the media. It shows things that get people talking about and watching more News. Many Muslims do speak out against violence.
Seriously, turn off your TV and get a clue!

Well further to my answer to another asker who asked similar question
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnA_HSsMQWfBYjlRAk3RtGfsy6IX?qid=20060903233104AAKqlBJ
I would like to add:
Islam teaches us to be patient & to talk to people kindly. It avoides using voilence as much as possible. Now when the cartoons against Prophet Mohammed was published which was an' attack on the Muslims of the World and on the Prophet, you saw only the voilent reaction of Muslims on the street. The media did not show the story from beginning. What actually happened was:
In Septemebr 2005 the Danish imams protested the publication of 12 Muhammad cartoons in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten -but no action taken
For four months the imams and their Muslim organizations have unsuccesfully demanded government censorship. still no action taken.
Despite immense pressure (also from international organizations such as the UN and the EU) the Danish government refused to call the newspaper to account.
Later a couple of Norwegian papers decided to publish the cartoons in support of the Danish paper while in Denmark moderate Muslims, encouraged by the government’s refusal to be intimidated by the radicals, have distanced themselves from the imams. The latter announced that they no longer demand apologies from Jyllands-Posten for the publication. Instead they said they just want two things: a guarantee from the Danish authorities that Muslims can freely practice their religion without being “provoked and discriminated.” And a declaration from Jyllands-Posten that the cartoons were not published with the intention of mocking the Muslim faith. “We want Jyllands-Posten to show respect for the Muslims. This can happen with an apology, but it can also happen in some other way. We will leave it to Jyllands-Posten to come up with some ideas,” said Ahmed Akkari, spokesman of the Muslim organizations. “We want respect for Muhammad restored and we want him to be described as the man he really was in history, and that he gets the respect he deserves,” Akkari stressed that Muslim organizations are still deeply opposed to the publication of the cartoons.
until now the problem was just inside Denmark and the imams have tried the peacful way but it did not work.
Now Norwegian papers such as Magazinet decides to support Jyllands-Posten by publishing the cartoons.
Some Swedish papers are considering publishing the cartoons as well.
Now the issue have reached outside Denmark and it was carried to the muslims organizations outside
The Organization of the Islamic Conference protested publication of the cartoons in the Norwegian paper Magazinet. The Iranian embassy in Oslo said that freedom of expression cannot justify publishing the cartoons. However, Finn Jarle Sæle, the editor of the Norwegian Christian newspaper Norge I DAG, announced that his paper is also considering publishing the cartoons. He called upon other Norwegian editors to do the same. Sæle says that so far many of them have only written editorials supporting freedom of expression but have not dared to publish the cartoons themselves. Asked if wider publication will not lead to unnecessary confrontations between Christians and Muslims Sæle said the intention was not to provoke just for the sake of provoking, but rather to confront radical Islam in Norway. Perhaps it is necessary to provoke in order to do that, he said.
Media did not show these peacful efforts made by the muslims
Now Muslims start taking action other than words:
An international organization of Muslim intellectuals has said All muslims would boycott Danish and Norwegian products unless the Danish and Norwegian government condemn the publication of the cartoons. and Denmark offers an official apology.”
Still no "sorry" from Denmark, now at this moment some muslims attacked some embassies and officials and now the media was there and it showed that muslims are voilent. They never talked about the peacful efforts made by the muslims only focused on the voilence.
This is exactly what you all see on the media, you should try to find a trusted source to get news.
I hope you understand how the media works.
Another point: The muslim in the world who talk are shut up or jailed by their own government who have business with America & Israel. Muslims have gone far away from teaching of Quran so they started to fear their life from the American Army and Israeli's , the governments are very weak and they only have power to shut the peoples mouth, they don't have power to talk against the cirmes commited against Islam. They have their own businesss & lands. Now you see what heppaned in Afghanistan & Iraq. Innocent people are dying everyday. When muslims start to defend they are called terrorist or anti american. The truth is muslims don't hate Americans, there have been good relation in previous, but when they see unjustice from America they start to talk against America and then they are either labled by the media as terrorist, anit american or muslim radicals.Muslims thought that America would bring freedom of speach and true democracy , but what they wanted was to shut the muslims mouth and keep him away from practising his religion

What do you want them to do? They have already made it clear that terrorists do not represent Islam. Would you like them to run out of their homes, rip off their shirts and say "I am muslim, stop this madness". A bit overly dramatic don't ya think?
