The short answer is no.

The longer answer is that I am much more enlightened than I used to be. But because enlightenment--I hear--is a total thing, you can't really measure it out in "getting closer," I guess. I don't know, since I ain't it. But so far as dropping illusions, delusions, and falling out of love with my own darn self (in the "aren't I just so unique and special" way), I have done a lot of that work, and there is much less between me and the world than there used to be. What I mean by this is that there is little that causes me to rise to my own defense, because there is so little that needs defending anymore. What is true is true. What is not true, I'm not interested in hanging onto.

And enlightenment, as I understand it, is dropping what is false.

I'm not sure what exactly you have against religion, if its nothing then please forgive me, but in reading your previous questions you seem to be very angry at religion and the religious.

To answer your question, I have found many of the answers I have sought for in religion, some I have not found yet. Thus I suppose you could say religion has enlightened me in various ways. Just as history has in other ways, just as living life has in other ways still. I will say this; I am happy, and for the most part content with my lott in life. I'm not a depressed or "down" person, and it is my opinion and belief that this is because of my faith and my "religion".

I hope that answers your question.

Yes, but where I live, it's hard not to. Connecting with nature is a very enlightening & enchanting experience! Peace falls over you like a security blanket.

I have. The best thing you can do is to follow the golden rule. It was given as a lesson in the Bible from Christ when he said the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and the next is to love thy neighbor as thyself. If everyone in the world treated each other person the way they would like to be treated, or love thy neighbor as themselves, we wouldn't cheat or lie or steal. This creates happiness and enlightenment.

Enlightenment?

If you are asking if I suddenly know the mysteries of the universe, no. If you are asking if I've found peace, yes.

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.

JESUS is the Light of the World. I am still in the dark about a lot of things, but his word is a lamp unto my steps, and a light unto my path. In a confusing and dark world, I follow Jesus one step at a time, and it's light enough for me to see my way through it, and maybe help a few others.

According to what enlightenment is in our faith, yes. Your definition of enlightenment may be different than ours. We don't believe in Christ Consciousness, or Nirvana because they are outside of what Christ teaches, and are deceptions to lead you further away from the Truth that He brought. If you can't receive His Truth, then you are open to many other types of "realities."

Yes, but "enlightenment" isn't really a word I use to describe it.

No elightment ANYWHERE but in Jesus. He is the ONLY ONE among "prophets" or "religious icons" if you will, who EVER CLAIMED to be the Light of the world.

I am not saying becoming a Christian by religion but I am talking about KNOWING CHRIST personally is the only way to enlightment, since He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
