Human beings are the most intelligent beings on planet Earth. If proof of God was "creation" why aren't 100% of human beings on Earth believers in God?

Wouldn't the proof be overwhelming? Wouldn't every adult human being be able to see it and know there was a God? Since there can only be one God, why are humans on Earth believing in different Gods?

Why don't we know for sure how God feels about abortion?
Why don't we know for sure how God feels about the death penalty?
Why don't we know for sure if war in Iraq or Israel or Jordan or wherever is ok?
Why don't we know if gay marriage is ok?

Some say proof is the Bible. Or proof is the Qu'ran. Or proof is the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't make being gay a sin. It allows for gay people to be married. The Bible doesn't. The Qur'an says stone the homosexuals in their bedsheets. These are, very different positions, based on a book.

A book isn't good enough.

Am I, preaching to the choir?

Sing choir, sing a song, sing it loud, be proud. Don't ever let any theist tell you you're not good enough@

One night, about ten years ago, I was staying the night at a friends house and she decided to play with the ouija board pretty late. I'm an 'early bird' so I was more than tired but I agreed to anyway.
I don't really remember what was said but she swears that everything she asked that had been answered came true. She gets really excited when she thinks about it & at the time, she was so obsessed with it, her mom threw it away; my friend dug it out of the trash so her mom burned it. Therefore, I don't think she was moving it.
I don't remember what I asked but since I have been completely unaware of some events and one question I do remember (how old will I be when I get married?:A-27, not at all true), I don't think anything it 'predicted' for me happened.
She's not very religious-I think she thinks there's a God but she disagrees with a lot in the Bible but doesn't seem to think about religion much. Just kind of goes along with the status quo.

Even Jesus drank wine. Where in the Bible does it say excess means a single drop? What's the idea behind making laws that forbid other people from buying drinks?

Catholics, you can skip this question.

The 7 Deadly Sins are:

Superbia = hubris/pride, Avaritia = avarice/greed, Luxuria = extravagance/lust, Invidia = envy, Gula = gluttony, Ira = wrath, and Acedia = sloth.

The 7 Virtues are:

Chastisy, Abstinance, Liberality, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, and Humility.

Do you honestly feel, believe that either set of human characteristics is worthy of punishment or accolades? All of us have a little of each within our nature and if acted upon, the result is almost immediate.

If I eat too much, I'll get fat.

If I'm greedy, I'll lose all my friends.

Cause and Effect - plain and simple.

Is there any real need for a deity to govern over what John Lennon described as "instant Karma?"

ok i know some people are going to call me stereotypical here but im really not. i mean just think about it, if atheists cant even believe in something more to life than just what they see, why would they believe theres even a reason to care about other people? i mean to them its all over soon so whats the point of joy on earth to them? there is none for them. i know that i have met a couple atheists and all of them have been not especially friendly people. maybe its because theyre angry at theirselves for not being able to see more than just science. im pretty sure kim jong il is running an atheist state. he seems pretty pissed off. what do you think?

If I was God, I'd show up and let the people I created know I exist. That way, there wouldn't be any fighting between believers and non believers.

Without proof of my existence, people might try and control one another using my name. I wouldn't want any of my creation controlled.

What would you do if you were God, even if it was just for one day?

I don't understand how anti-abortion are saying that they can't afford to adopt children or they had their own. Yet many of these people have their own chioldren. They choose to have sex and produce children when there are so many in need. Is this not hypocritical?

The more he saw, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
That wise old owl was a wise old bird.

God was heavily involved early on. He led the people out of Egypt, aided the people in battles, etc. Christians believe he even came to earth as jesus. Where is he now? Why isn't he helping us out now? Does he hate us? Why doesn't he perform plagues or floods now to help us?

To create a human being, a sentient intelligent creature, and provide no proof of your existence of a creator, and expect these intelligent human persons, to believe in you, or punish them for their non-belief by throwing their individuality into a lake of fire, making them expirience pain, is that a moral or a just thing to do?

Or is that an immorral unjust sky wizard?

Why must religious fanatics constantly tell us to convert, to believe in God/Jesus etc etc. Do you think that I or other non believers are miserable? You can't blame us for thinking that *some* of you are brainwashed when all us non believers ever hear is "Jesus will save you" "Look to God for help" yada yada yada.

I have many religious friends and NOT ONCE have any of them tried to "make me see the way". What makes you think that I / we will listen to a STRANGER tell us what to believe in?? Who do you think you are? Do you guys have a tally card to see who has converted the most? You think God will pay attention to that... Doesn't he "teach" accept others for who they are????

Ever wonder that when you bite the dust - and (if) God exist - he asks you "Why on Earth were you forcing your beliefs on others when all I wanted was for you to love and accept one another for who they are!"

((I'm not attacking I'm just rather fed up with this Mightier-Than-Thou attidude))

disclaimer: I am an eclectic!

definition of fundamentalism: "a movement or attitude stressing strict and literal adherence to a set of basic principles" (Merriam-Webster dictionary)

definition of freethinker: "one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority" (same source)

since most athiests view science as the only authority regarding what is true, they fall under the category of fundamentalists.

do you agree/disagree and why?

Please support your responses.
