you are on the right track so be encouraged. No matter how strong a Chrsitian or how long we walk with the Lord, we all slip, we all turn away,.
Some of the most important things we need to remember are that God's Word, the Bible is for our instruction, encouragement and training in truth. Even if it is a little bit each day, don't neglect reading and memorizing scripture. If it helps, get the Bible on tapes or CDs and listen to them as you go to sleep at night and/ or in your car. Next, fellowship, do not neglect fellowship. It is so easy to get out of fellowship with other believers because we feel intimidated, get offended, etc. But remember none of us are perfect and we need to give our offenses over to the Lord and honor one another above ourselves. Get involved with a ministry, invite other believers over for lunch or coffee or whatever, get involved in a oyuth group or ladies fellowship and go to church. And lastly, take time each day to pray, talk to the Lord - it does not have to be eloquent or long winded, just take the time to take your concerns to the Lord, worship and have an attitude of gratefulness and be still and listen.
Be encouraged, be blessed and be a blessing!

First as a Youth Pastor in California it is good to see a young lady interested in religion. Where to start? we all go through highs and lows in our faith I think that it is human nature to get caught up in life and to sometimes do stupid things that get in the way of our relationship with Christ. The fact that you are wrestling with the way your life is is awesome, it tells me that God has covicted your heart. Remember that we always give up on God but He never gives up on us. If you have excepted Christ as your personal Savior you are saved by his grace Romans 5. I am glad that a lady has come into your life who is dicipling you. I dont know if I would agree with you reading James at this time, But I dont know you so maybe she felt that it was appropriatwe for you. If I were to give you a book to start with it would be Romans. I would also tell you to get involved in a healthy church that has a healthy Youth group.

It will help you to read Deuteronomy 4:29-31. Even though this is in the Old Testament, it is still valid when you consider Lord to be either God or Jesus, as it is commonly used.

So you're a teenager? You're at a stage in life when your mind and body are growing, and you have new feelings, goals, and priorities. That's going to change everything right there, including how you feel about God and religion. Don't beat yourself up too hard.

real, seek with purity of heart and you will find. when the student is ready the teacher will appear.
life is a spiritual school, the bible is like the grades from kindergarden to PHD,then on job training.
If you get stumped you can alwaws go directly to the headmaster,,just get still, then go directly to GOD, INSIDE YOUR OWN HEART and pray he send you the teacher you need.

Read John as well, it may give you a reminder of just who Jesus is. Also, pray about it, and you'll feel a lot better!
