No way, I do it a lot, usually in church though. At my church people usually don't shout (holy ghost dance, dance in the spirit) while music is playing unless the choir is singing a song. The reason is that sometimes, the rhythm of the drum can call other spirits that can possess and person for a period of time but that is very unsual. If it ever does happen the person probably wont look right and they might band into things, dance to the beat and move with every hit of the drum and stuf like that. Not the holy dance you are acustomed to. Shouting is good as long as you do it to praise God and not to feel good. But go ahead praise his name and do your dance.

Of course music is not wrong. Music is supposed to played giving praise to God, organs keyboards, drums guitars everything ccan be used to praise God.

No it is not wrong. What you may be wondering is if it is wrong just to dance in the spirit and worship with lots of music.

My answer to that would be yes, we all need to read and re read our bibles. It is the only way (path) to understanding what God requires of us to submit to him.

So, if you dance in the spirit and worship with lots of music, and continue to read and reread your bible for understanding and wisdom, you are fine.

I believe there are alot of refrences in the Bible that tell us to dance and praise him. Let me be a sounding gong or clanging symbol. Also we need to rech a newer generation and the worship music today does that.

Dance and music were always a part of my soul and that of my mother. I was raised in her church but left it when I was young. I tried to return to it, to be married in it, to make her happy to see me married in her faith. The priest told me that in the years since I had left, the church had changed. They now outlawed music and dance and I could not have music or dancing at the reception of my wedding. My mother's only wish was for me to be happy -- and to dance at my wedding. She got her wish!! I went and got a wonderful minister and he danced and sang with the best of us!! Enjoy the dance and music -- that is what it is there for, or it would not move our souls so well.

of course not! I also think it's important to allow our children to be free to worship with joy. I think too many people want to worship the Lord freely and then will scold their children to sit down and shut up during worship. Sheesh!

The Bible encourges it:
Praise the Lord! Sing to The Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the faithful! Let Israel be glad in his Maker, let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King! Let them praise His Name with dancing, making melody to Him with timbrel and lyre! For The Lord takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the humble with victory." (Psalm 149:1-4 RSV)

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance" (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 RSV)

It depends. What is the object of your worship? Is it God, is it Christ? Or is it the feelings and emotions of the circumstance. Worship is for God, for Jesus and them alone and if you are wrapped up in anything else it becomes an idol in your life.
Worship carefully.
