I totally agree with you. I'm not sure why. These people believe in Christ but when looking at their personality, how they judge, how they criticize and point their fingers, they don't seem very Christ like. All religions have one thing in common, they all strive for tolerance, love, and respect for thy neighbor, I have yet to see this happen. I guess people are just hypocrites, They believe so strongly in their faith, because it was the only think they have ever known, that when someone believes in something else they get defensive because they feel they have to protect the only thing they know, even if they can see they are in the wrong. I don't know, I just know this is one of the few things in life that will never stop bothering me.

Fear. They are afraid of what they don't know or understand. They have this idea that everything they believe is true, not only for them but everybody else as well. I think they are also afraid that they may find out that what they have always believed to be true is false or has changed. Fear drives allot of things. Most religions are based in fear. Fear is what is keeping 80 year old Millie Jones from taking her $50.00 bottle of Elizabeth Taylor's Passion on an airplane. Fear is what keeps a woman from being president in this country - the boys in the club are threatened. Fear is what keeps homosexuals in the closet and from full equality. They, the supposed righteous, pound away on your crucifix because you may be right and they may be wrong and it scares the hell out of them.

How do you determine that they are the most righteous? Preaching loudly doesn't make anyone righteous. You don't know them or their lives so its not you up to you to condemn them. Even if you knew each personally, God is the final judge, not you.

You are on a journey
That journey will take you to many places & try you very hard.

It has always been the endeavor of the unrightous & unknowing to critizize others.

It is also the tendency of the blind follower who is unsure of their own path to question others.

Whatever you beleive is up to you & those who are unsure will be the loudest in telling you that you are wrong.

My suggestion is to know as much as you can about what you beleive so that you can assist them on their journey.

A loving & knowledgable touch is sometime what brings people to the ultimate realization - that they themselves are lost.

Do not follow blindly - seek that what means the most to you & embrace it. Others do not matter because they are not on your quest - it is only you.

They think they're self-righteous when they're really not. I don't wanna be a pharisee. However, being tolerant does not mean that you agree that someone else's choices are right or just, you just allow them the free will to choose respectfully.

Don't think of them. Think of it this way. well, the reality is that God will wait on us and forgive us no matter how much or how great the sin, if we only repent. But the thing is, that when it's all said and donr, in The End (with capitals) God can't live where there is sin. And sin can't exist with God. Meaning than any form of unforgiven sin will drag you downwards, in the arms your always faithful killer, thief and destroyer, satan.
A proof that God is ferm concerning sin is when Jesus came accross the prostitute caught while sinning. He didn't condemn her at all, but He said to her: "Go and sin no more"
Don't misunderstand the people that act that way. Never judge anyone. Judge yourself so that you may not be judged.

I guess they only know their way of living, so they think it must be the only way.
What confuses me more is why religion doesn't seem to be a private matter. People are free to believe what they want, but live and let live and shut up about it, huh?

Because Christians preach all the time but do not follow the Bible...that makes me crazy! Why bother to be Christian if you are not going to follow the rules to get to Heaven??

Christians?

What have you given up for Jesus?

"Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple" (Lk. 14:33)

So today I challenge all Christians to be closer to Jesus by giving up everything (especially your p/c and internet connection).

You must give up everything because wealth is bad, but "New Jerusalem is made of pure gold, is approximately 1,400 to 1,500 miles high, long and wide, has walls of jasper, streets of gold, and gates of pearls that are never shut" (Rev. 21:15-27).

I guess only God is allowed to be rich.

Oh, and remember to watch your weight or you may not get into Heaven at all!

Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will NOT be able to" (Lk. 13:24)

Its called hypocrisy. For some reason, righteousness breeds hypocricy.

Id explain why, but I am neither righteous or a hypocrite.

If a Christian had friends that drunk every night excessively, and tey wanted him to go wit them, and he says no, they wonder how he lives without alchohol. Us Chrsitians wonder how other people live their lives

IF a jock asked a smart kid how he got good grades, the smart kid might answer how the jock didnt get good grades

what is natural to one person might be unnatural to another

Christians do not hate anyone except Satan We hate the lifestyles of other people
