William C: Someone else just said that the reason she didn't adopt is that an adoption would have cost her thousands of dollars and she just couldn't afford it. Clearly if costs thousands of dollars to keep a kid in foster care. It would be cheaper in the long run to simply pay the adoption costs for worthy families.

Bill Clinton passed the Adoption Tax Credit in August, 1996. You can read about it here:

So I guess the answer to your question is ... yes.

they already do...

response to additional:
My wife and I adopted two children. It did not cost us thousands of dollars...in fact, nothing above the normal costs of raising a child...I suspect your source either (1) was unift at the time to be given a child without upgrades of some sort or (2) wanted a specific child (i.e - white girl) when demand increases then price does too...simple economics...

weird...

It would help. I think there are worse ways to spend it.If I could afford it I would love to.I hope one day to be able to. I only have 2 sons and I nearly died with both of those. I love children. I have looked into it and I can tell you that to those of us who work for less that 20,000 a year it is more than we can afford. Add that no one wishes to give ANY child to a family of that income with a father 20 years the senior of the mother and you have us. I can afford to raise and feed my two and I cannot afford that cost although I could afford to raise and feed them.

Better question would be, should tax dollars be sent over seas and to those that come to the US illegally for abortions?

What ever it takes to stop the great abomination on our land. We are a blessed and priviledged nation because we serve the one true God. Depart from God and He will withdraw His mighty hand of mercy from us.

Adoption will not end abortion, BIRTH CONTROL WILL.
