1 Chr.21:5 ( this even better, 1.5 million)
21:5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.

(The United States had about 1.37 million active duty soldiers in 2001.)
Wow and that is only 2 tribes....

Please no one word answers. I know most will say faith and the like but I'm looking for more along the lines of individual explanations of why they think there is an single absolute truth that applies to everyone.

I've never inflicted harm on my son to test how much he REALLY loves me, or because somebody dared me to;

I've never abandoned him or thrown him out of the house because he didn't listen to me;

I've never told him that he was unworthy of my love or that he "owed" me for giving him life;

I've never punished him for playing with other adults or showing them respect while in their homes;

When he's misbehaved, I haven't held it over his head for the rest of his life;

Does this make me a better father than the Christian God?

Yesterday I saw a question where the person asked if anyone could help with a ghost deal. I remembered when I was working at a local mall third shift, I used to see a ghost myself. It was a little white girl with brown hair and a white dress who liked to run in front of a store at 1 am. But when I'd get close, she'd disappear. I decided it would be best to leave her alone, but I liked to watch her play, she always had so much fun. I was wondering if anyone else had seen ghosts like I and the other questioner did?

This is exactly what happened. Read the story for yourself and see just how far down the slippery slope we have gone with this one. Disrespecting life at any stage leads to continuely more blatant violations of ethics.

I know, I know, you're going to say "you're not the messiah", but what if people had said that to jesus? we'd be one messiah short of eternal salvation, that's what. sometimes you just have to have faith my children.

Most Muslims believe that Americans should understand "true Islam" and thus despite their Islamic governments invitations, should know enough not to accept those invitations and thus not have any troops in Islamic lands.

Of course, almost every muslim believes that there should never be any non-muslims in the holiest of islamic lands.

What about non-muslims who dont appear to be "troops"? Well, if your a "guest" of someone, then it should be ok and you shall be "protected". However, even this is not fool proof, because there are still many fatwas outstanding which demand the outright murder of non-muslims, so there appears to be no fail safe method of being strictly within narrow Islamic allowances for dimmi (lesser people or non-muslims) in Islamic lands.

Muslims, advise people, who may want to visit Islamic lands, how their lesser presence can be most safely assured from the very fine religious sensiblities of all Muslims in the area.

let me just give you some background info:
i've been "christian" all my life (born that way...i guess) but only recently have i opened up a bible and really get interested in the christian religion

my question is...how can all these tales be believed?

it's so unbelievable that i can't believe people really believe in this. i believe there is a God...there are so many miracles that has happened with no reasonable answer and so we call it "God's work". i've been talking to my pastor about these stories and how crazy these tales are (splitting of water, food for millions from just a piece of bread...etc)

i feel like it is very odd that we (anyone who believes the words of the bible) believe in this stuff. i know there is a God, and there's definetly a Satan...but what's what about these stories?

i'm definetly not trying to defame christianity, i'm just questioning like any other confused person.
