i don't know if you're quoting a bible verse- but it's a reminder that our sins can affect other people- and even for generations. The mom that is hooked on crack- affects her child. Our sins can have effects that hurt others-- it answers the conventional wisdom of i can do whatever i want as long as i hurt nobody but myself.

Life itself is full of challenges. God never allows us to endure more than we can bear.

Hope that helps,

Each of us is responsible for our own sins. When the Bible says the sins of the father are visited on the sons to the 3rd & 4th generations, it means the temptation to do them. If your father were a drunk, you would have more of an inclination to drink. If your father watched porn all the time, you would have more of a desire for porn. It is still up to you to break the chain. Say no to your temptations to save your descendents from having to fight them.

Life is never fair........ and no I don't beleive that you are paying for your father's sins........ however you could be paying for your own in a past life......... just because you are reborn doesn't mean you escape the trials and doings of your pervious life. Noone is that lucky.......... blessed be.

Where did you hear such a foolish thing? That is totally wrong! the only bible refernce that comes close is in a section telling them to train and teach their children right from wrong.

Where did you learn that?

The bible says that we DO NOT pay for the sins of our fathers or our children.
