hello retards! I said "passage from the bible". Do you understand that? Thou shall not kill doesn't refer to suicide.

There is no passage in the Bible that says the word "suicide" nor is there one that talks about "abortion" or "speeding". Knowing this, we can only reason by looking at what we have available to come to the best conclusion.

A few people in the Bible were mentioned as committing suicide, but I will just name two. One would be Saul, who was the people's chosen hero and king for a very long time, eventually became overjealous when David (from the David and goliath story) started to steal his glory through many different military battles. Saul eventually went mental and all crazy and stuff, and ended up killing himself at the lowest point of his life. He was sorry for himself and the way he felt, not because of what he had done.

Likewise, another man named Judas Iscariot, the man who betrayed Jesus, had every chance at redemption and all he had to say was "I am sorry", but he chose instead to hang himself in self pity---not because he was sorry about what he had done.

You can also look at many verses that describe how much God loves you and the fact He created you and knows every hair on your head and thinks about you more times than the amount of grains of sand in the sea (check out Psalm 139, the whole chapter very nice) so it would be safe to say your life would be very valuable to Him.

Oh by the way, the definition of sin isn't "doing bad things"...the real definition is anything that separates you from God. Suicide, is safe to say, would be one of those things, just the same as promiscuous relationships, just the same as murder of another person, or even doing selfish things that really don't seem like such a big deal.

So knowing all that, one could only assume that any person mentioned in the Bible as committing suicide has done so at the lowest point they possibly could be in, and is never mentioned in a positive light, and the whole Book itself is about God's love for you and your value to Him, that suicide would be wrong.

Hope that helps :D

Suicide is murder of the self. Murder is a sin. You are unable to repent after committing this sin. An unrepentant sinner is destined for Hell.

I haven't found the passage yet, but I can give you the theory behind it. Suicide is a sin for Christians, because when you become a Christian your life is no longer your own you have freely given it to Christ. By taking your own life you take what is no longer yours. I'll let you know when I find the passage. By the way sheep are always protected by their Shepard.

There is no specific passage I can see at the moment in the Bible. If you are a Christian or whatever belief you have, we are taught that it was God who us gave this life. So, since He is the One who gave it, there is no one but He is the only one who can take it back. The commandments has listed Exodus 20:13 "Thou shall not commit murder. (NIV)" . It does not say self-killing but to kill someone or kill yoursefl is still murder. one is callled "homicide", the other one is "suicide".

i think of its comparable to concept as why Christians say homicide is a sin. once you kill somebody, you're taking a life away before it is meant to die. To the Christians, only God has the capability to come again to a call whilst will one dies. So once you commit suicide, you're taking your person life away, and you have committed a sin. As for different religions, i think of its relatively a similar concept too.

Thou shall not kill.Look,it means YOU are not allowed to kill anyone!Duh...If you commit suicide then YOU do it,right? You get it now?Well, you are killing someone and that someone is you.Plus think how would God like this,he created a person and then the person said "ah this life is poitless, there is no need to live".Think how would God like that, when his creation says this!!!I just prayed for you have mercy on God's Jesus's ways and life, find salvation in His hands, live in peace and may your life be a joyful one,Amen!!!

Religion has to stand for something we can all agree on.
They send people to war, ask for donations that they donate to political parties. Sanction war. Tell people it is ok to fornicate, adultry and lieing and stealing. Most holidays are from pagan traditions that are all lies. But it makes money. Everyone knows the churches are all about the money. They have to speak out about something. Homosexuality now is ok.
So abortion everyone agrees is a nasty thing to do and so is sucide. So that is no controversal and safe to say don't do that.
they have to have some ligitamacy, some reason for being.

The Ten Commandments clearly teach us that murder is a sin. This includes the murder of oneself.

Of course, with many suicides there are mitigating factors at play -- severe mental illness or emotional distress, for instance. These may lessen or even remove the guilt for the act, in God's eyes.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV) [19] Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [20] you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

(1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV) [16] Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? [17] If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God&'s temple is sacred, and you are that temple
