I've noticed that theists spend a great deal of time making statements about what their god is like, or what is going to happen to people after they die, or how the universe came about, but strangely they never provide anything to back it up. Why is that? Without some kind of support for your statements, you might as well be earnestly telling us all about hobbits and pixies, for all the difference it would make.

Where's the evidence? Why don't you feel the need to provide any?

Morpheous: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Why was the founders of America Christians.?Thomas Jeffereson, and George Washington some of the brigthest men were christians. And how about William Shakespeare is he a fool too?

The human mind is incapable of creating things that don't exist. Yes that means you can't create a new color. Now you can manipulate what already exist. Like I can make a kanagroo with wings, and horns. I'm just combining what already exists. It is impossible for man to come up with this idea of God, if it didn't already exist. Yes your going to say,, well God is just a man. Or man looked for some explanation. I Know God is supernatural a spirit. Nobody has seen him, but we know he's there.

The common argument seems to be that If I believe in the tooth fairy you should to. As if thats your basis for not believing in Christianity. Well you shouldn't believe anything unless there some substancial evidence. Prophecies written in scripture were wrote many years b4 Christ was born.

1. Fairy tale coat everything you dont understand

2. NEVER EVER think about where God came from

3. Just keep telling yourself "I'm going to hell if I dont believe", say it until you feel a deep fear

4. When talking to an Atheist, stop the conversation when he begins to make you think too much

5. Have faith, in other words, disregard ALL logic. Especially if it's coming from Atheists

6. Always look for simple answers. Especially when it comes to this complicated Universe

7. Limit your thinking abilities. Thinking too much can hurt your faith

This is for all the young skeptics on here. How on earth did you get so wise while still in your teens. I would suspect that the average age on here would be late teen-early twenties. I cannot for the life of me figure out how they became all knowing, smart enough to judge other people and in general make complete asses of themselves. It is really quite miraculous to me, until the Lord stops me and makes me think. This is the age of rebellion. Rebel all you want, but leave my religion out of it. I fully expect to get a lot of flack on this but know something? I don't care. Fire when ready, Gridley.

There have been many questions asked on yahoo answers in the religion section which go along these lines:

Question for atheists . . . 1. How did the Big Bang occur? 2. How did life start?

As many of you know, I'm an agnostic not trying to convert anyone and just building the yahoo answers database of question and answers, so here is my question on this topic:

1. Why is this question asked specifically for Atheists to answer?

2. Aren't these questions more a science question, and belong in the science section of yahoo answers to create a database of questions and answers?

3. If the point of these questions is to point out the flaws of the Atheist view, is yahoo answers the appropriate forum for this?

4. For everyone who uses this as a forum to try and change other people's world view - is it an appropriate forum?

5. Is it right to ask questions about topics with the intent of persuading someone to a specific political ideology?

If you were born in India, what are the chances that you would believe in the Krshna myth instead? If you were born in ancient Greece or Rome, what are the chances you would of believed in the Hercules myth? If you were born in Iraq, would you of believed in the Quran myth? Isis and her virgin born son Horus for ancient Egypt? If you were born in Asia Minor in the 1st century, chances are high you would of believed in Dionysus who was born on December 25th, died and rose from the death three days later.

...always closed minded, rude, probably poorly educated and usually hard-sell peddlers of Atheism? They are not deep thinkers or scientist who are open to look at all possibilities. They seem to be driven by a desire to stamp out the concept of God, rather than have a scientific discussion on the origins of life and the universe. Thank God they are not religious, they would be intollerable. Have you ever noticed that?

The best you can do is the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich.

Whatever happened to seas being parted and people being raised from the dead? How no one is around to heal lepers anymore? When was the last time you came across a talking donkey who told you to bow before the angel of the lord?

Anything that people try and pass off as miracles these days can easily be explained as natural phenomenon or cult mentality. Is that any different from the good ol' days?

It appears all Muslims will agree that the Qur'an is undeniably God's Word. But since the Hadiths are not considered God's Word, does it mean Sharia (Islamic law) cannot be reliably derived from the Hadiths?

The "bad press" surrounding Islamic law always points to the fact that certain countries and juristictions justify execution and other brutal punishments using variations of Sharia as an excuse. If a Muslim is executed for violating Sharia which does not disobey the Qur'an, could that person be considered a martyr?

ALL HOMOSEXUALS WILL ACQUIRE THE AIDS VIRUS AND SUFFER A HORRIBLE, SLOW, DEATH! STOP YOUR SINNING NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND REPENT SO THAT YOU WILL NOT BURN IN HELL FOR ETERNITY!

What ever happened to tolerance, religion might be part of your life, but not mine, his answer has nothing to do with what I asked either.
