Believing in god or no longer believing in god isn't something that variations in one day. inspite of the undeniable fact that some human beings do makeup their suggestions from formative years, for many persons, it extremely is an prolonged adventure that starts off with asking questions and not getting sufficiently gratifying solutions, that is praying and not praying and noticing that there's no distinction interior the result between the two cases, that is approximately slowly placing out to to have self belief in different issues and noticing your life would not substitute, nor are you struck by applying lightning. you have opened your suggestions and are conscious of the data.. i'm guessing in a while you will slowly provide up believing in god, because of the fact that is virtually impossible to have self belief in something while each and every thing you already know, each and every actuality you learn, is going against your concept. sometimes of direction, human beings nonetheless insist on believing in god inspite of each and every thing, yet it extremely is in lots of cases out of blind faith and the reality that that is greater gentle to have self belief than no longer have self belief. the way this keeps is as much as you.

The fourth definition of "religion" is "A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion. " And a religious person is one who is concerned with or teaching a religion. Therefore, those Atheists you speak of are religious. Ironic isn't it? A true Atheist wouldn't even care to bother discussing religion.

In my life I have more than my share of religious zealots, who wouldl not respect my views (a so what practicing Catholic). Most atheists that I have run into left me alone, and did not try to convert me to their views, unlike many of the fundamentalist Christians.

Most atheists used to be religious. We stopped being zealots because we saw how foolish it was.
Understand?
Edit - And to Icy U, you are mistaken. The only reason we care to discuss religion is because the religious right is imposing its nonsense on our schools, hospitals, politics, and just about everything else in our world. YOU affect me, every day. So I'm here to affect you. I'm here to wake you and your peers up, whether you like it or not.
In essence, the religious right have called down the thunder. And the atheists, like myself, are finally shining the light of reason on your insanity, because you have FORCED us to.

I agree. They're so strict about everything needing a reason.
Well, if everything has a reason, then what's the reason for everything? And is that not the definition of God?
