It appears all Muslims will agree that the Qur'an is undeniably God's Word. But since the Hadiths are not considered God's Word, does it mean Sharia (Islamic law) cannot be reliably derived from the Hadiths?

The "bad press" surrounding Islamic law always points to the fact that certain countries and juristictions justify execution and other brutal punishments using variations of Sharia as an excuse. If a Muslim is executed for violating Sharia which does not disobey the Qur'an, could that person be considered a martyr?

Yes. A Muslim can reject some of it as the Quran IS the only Book of God and that it should be alone. The Hadith are the saying of the Prophets. The Sharia and Hadiths follow the Words of God from the Quran. So, accept those the are authentic and those that are not.

Yes, as a human being with free will, a Muslim like anyone else, can reject any mythology they want to on the basis of reason and logic.

Well, according to this Koranic text:

"O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination. "(4:59)

So, we have to obey the Messenger, and use the hadith as a reference.
