I have existed since the beginning of time and I have to say, I need a breather every once in a while. So here I come, chilling on YA! to enlighten a few souls.
Words of wisdom for today:
The heaven or home you are craving is real. It was the original source of understanding and love you experienced. Of course you want to go back, it was wonderful. The music played as a song without end.
Now, you are here though, and there..simultaneously. You catch fleeting glimpses of this place where knowledge and experiences are deposited by your actions. To truly be existing in both places and understanding that is quite an accomplishment.
You made it this far didn't you.
Oh well, why believe a stranger, I wouldn't be telling ya now if I didn't know I would have a harder time convincing you after you pass on.
Just do this for me;
In your idea of what happens after you die, make sure there is a backdoor belief...that their will be one door available for you to enter through to return home.

Please understand I am not bashing anyone's beliefs. I always look at everthing at face value and try to research it has much as I can. I too was born into a Christian family, but don't remeber this being explained. I have not been a practicing Christian for some time, so I would just like some of your views.
If there is proof that there are things dating back to BC, how does that explain that God created everything. Or do Christians not believe that there is history before Christ?
I have read both religious views and scientific view, and both seem to have a great argument, so I would just like to know what others think.

For those BA Christians that spend a lot of time alone or live alone. How do you keep yourself from just giving up on life or just going nuts from boredom? Even when I pray, it seems that it is so easy to slip into a funk and stay there. When I pray I seem to become more agitated by the fact that I have to wait for God to whatever it is that He has to do.

People wonder why the novel is the most popular form of literature; people wonder why it is read more than books of science or books of metaphysics. The reason is very simple; it is merely that the novel is more true than they are. Life may sometimes legitimately appear as a book of science. Life may sometimes appear, and with a much greater legitimacy, as a book of metaphysics. But life is always a novel.

I posted this question in the biology section and cant believe how many answers i got from ppl saying god did it,. so i figure that asking here i might get some better answers. i trust evolution, but it only explains how life changes and how we got to what we are today, but it does not explain how life began. How did something living come from things that were non-living?

Why is it that Jehovah Witnesses do not celebrate holidays? And why, in this religion, is it considered wrong to celebrate holidays? Celebrating holidays brings family and friends together, and in this world, where people get so busy, isn't it nice to just relax and celebrate with the ones you love? I'm Roman Catholic, not a practicing Catholic. I used to study with a Witness, but it caused problems in my marriage ( my hubby is Catholic) and besides the whole thing against holidays, I think that religion is right on.

I am a Christian. I am a sinner saved only throgh the grace of God. I am flawed and I pray for wisdom and mercy daily. I know the differnce between right and wrong and I do my best to be pleasing to God. Why do people expect Christians to be perfect all of the time when there is no one perfect but God? And why are we are accused of being judgmental because we speak the gospel in love not hate? I believe we all are sinners but those of us who are more spiritual should correct each other in love.

And if God has seven spirits, does that mean that we do too?

Revelations 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Revelations 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Revelations 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

That we are shut up in some room with a bible and a candle praying and speaking in tongues all day. Come on , we have familes, jobs, spouse, boyfriends/girlfriends, we give parties( non-alcoholic), we laugh, are happy and enjoy life. We just choose just to enjoy it on a HIGHER LEVEL than non-believers:)

In my town we have these two particular bums. One is a black man that dresses in very large and dirty bellbottoms, a gigantic beanie with buttons all over it, and all sorts of little medals and things on his ripped-up denim jacket. He's really chill. We call him "Pycho-Magic."

The other is white women with mega-frizzy gray hair, a completely offensive attitude, little beadie black eyes, and speaks an almost incomprehensible dialect of english in which you can just barely make out a few hateful words. She's hostile to anyone unless they give her a cigarette. We call her "Scarecrow."

My friends and have I a few theories that he's the more powerful Magi and she was once his apprentice but he forsook her when she started dabbling in the Dark Arts (which has consumed her since). He adheres to a strick "code of honor" type dogma, but she will do whatever is necessary to achieve her plans. We think that he must have some sort of mighty artifact that she is after.

If a madman takes a woman hostage and uses her as a human sheild while he fires a semiautomatic into a crowd of people, would it be wrong to shoot at the person (assuming that is the only option), even if it means the woman has a good chance of being shot?

If you think its not justified, then are you saying that you think its better that the madman should continue shooting people?
And if you think that it is justified, how do you feel about what Israel is doing? Because that's exactly how they see the situation: Hizbullah are madmen using the lebanese civilians as human sheilds.

Please, only answer the qustion, do not post other (irrelevant) information.
and please keep answers short (~40 lines).
thanks and cheerio

And the Angels use the Sky to fly in, as I have been informed they do from christians, would it not then be correct to say God is indeed Baal(Lord)-Zebub(of those who fly), if I were to use the Hebrew tongue when referring to God?
I KNOW this is the OLD term for the God of Ekron(2 Kings 1:6) But nevertheless, it STILL is a descriptive of Yahveh, considering.
Therefore, it would also be ACCURATE to say that christians DO INDEED, worship Baal-Zebub!

Or can't you handle that fact...?

:)
