I will share what I know with you in the hope it will help.
I have had moments when I was alone that were incredibly spiritual and uplifting. Hiking one day at a big park, I came to the top of a hill overlooking the lake. I stood there taking in the beauty of the trees, the sunlight sparkling on the water and realized how beautiful this world can be. I thanked God for that moment. I have had similar experiences in the car when I was overlooking a valley. Sometimes sitting outside at night looking up at the stars, I can just feel the immensity of the universe and know that God had a hand in creating it. I sit there looking up at His creation and talk to Him as though I can see HIm. Try that, it can be refreshing. I never feel alone at moments like that. You seem to be uncertain that God is near you.
I would say it is important to be involved in an active church. I hope you live where you can have access to a church that has activities so that you can go at least twice a week and spend time with fellow believers. That will take care of some of your loneliness. You need to be with other people.
Now as for waiting for God to let you in on His plan, it is right there in His word.
In this day of everything that moves fast it is hard to be patient. I understand that. I had none of the modern gadgets when I was a kid. I used to say, "I'm bored", and my folks would say, "that's your own fault, go invent something to do."
I had to learn how to occupy myself and it also taught me patience. My sons were born in 1970 and 1973. They grew up with Sesame street and later on, video games with their fast paced action. Neither one of them has the patience I learned because of that and it is possible you are in the same situation. I'm sorry to have to inform you but God doesn't have the concept of time as we do. He has been around for ages and ages so to Him waiting one year for something to work out is child's play. To us it can seem like ten years if we are anxious about it.
Pray often for little things, for other people and you will begin to see answers to those prayers. That will strengthen your faith and give you reassurance that God hears you and cares about you.
Praying for others is an act of caring and it is unselfish. When my sister was about to get married at age 49, I kept checking the weather at accuweather.com. It was predicting rain all day and I knew that would not make for a good wedding. They were going to have it in a park so they could take photos near the flowers and trees. Rain would ruin their plans. I prayed frequently the last three days and the morning of the wedding. I just asked God not to let the rain ruin her wedding. Rain was predicted to start at 6:00am and continue all day. The wedding was scheduled to start at 11:00am . We drove to town with gray clouds threatening, we had a nice wedding and shortly after, the clouds thinned out enough to provide good lighting for the photos. When my sister and her new husband got in the limo to head for the reception, I took off in my car to print out photos of the wedding I had taken with my digital camera. I drove only about 1/4 mile and it started to rain! When I got to the reception, I learned it started to rain before they got to the reception hall but they didn't get wet going inside because there is an overhang by the front door.
So you see, God held off the rain just because I had asked a prayer for someone else. When I realized the God who created everything in this world answered my prayer I was stunned. I heard myself say, "Who am I that the God of this world should listen to me?" I got goose bumps all over my body and I felt a humble sort of peacefulness surrounding me. It was amazing and I shall never forget that. I was most thankful to God for that and I learned that God really can answer unselfish prayers!!
Try that and you will begin to see God working in your life and you will no longer feel alone when you are by yourself.

I work from 8-5. If you're not working or going to school then you should be doing one or the other. I have Tivo and use it to record some of my favorite Ministers on TBN, TCC, The Word, etc.
Know from the beginning that when you pray, the enemy's goal will be to distract you. The phone or doorbell will ring, someone will drive down the street with loud music, you'll get really sleepy, etc. I highly recommend praying when you wake up in the morning. That way, you're fresh.
You dont have to wait for God when you pray. He's already there. Mark 11:24 says "Therefore I say unto you What things soever you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have tham." There really isnt any "but but but" to that. Mark 11 is a good read anyway and everyone should read it.
Your prayers dont have to be long. As a matter of fact it's best that you get to the point pray in Jesus's name, and enjoy your day!
Hope this helps!!

One thing that I do to make sure that I stay pure and holy (as much as a human can) is this little trick....
I remember that any moment Jesus could walk into the room I am in and "catch" me doing whatever I am doing. Therefore, I make sure that at any point in time I am doingsomething that I would NOT be ashamed of.
Asfor the boredom...soemtimes life in general can be boring but that has nothing to do with being a Chrisstian. I think people in any religion can go through a dry spell.
Hope that helps.

I believe idle hands are the devil's plaything. My friend lives alone and it really seems to be hard on her trying to keep the faith. I think when you are alone it gives the enemy a chance to really play games with your thoughts. This is how he attacks us. We begin to get down and think all sorts of things. Keep your atmosphere light. I like to play my christian music and pray as well as reading the bible. Try to get out and fellowship with other Christians or start a bible study group in your own home. Whatever you do don't let the enemy play with your mind. Keep yourself immersed in God's word and stay in prayer. God bless you and I am praying for you too.

No, it's not difficult to be spiritual when alone. It's a personal relationship with God. People shouldn't spend lots of time alone. Whether they're Christians or not. We need people too for a well rounded life.

Hi!
I use to go to church three times a week. Sundays, then for bible study on Wensdays, and Thursdays for choir.
I also got a job where I worked for a devout Christian. During slow periods at work, we would talk about God, Jesus, the Bible and what not.
When I was alone, I would watch movies that promoted my faith, like movies about Jesus. I would also read books like "More than a Carpenter" and stuff like that.
I recommend reading a book called "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Albom. It is a great book. The main character felt like his life was without purpose... like he was useless. (He was a mechanic at a amusement park). Upon his death, he becomes surprised to find that God did use him and that he was doing great things, even if while alive, he thought those small things were insignificant.
God Bless...
T.

Ps 139:13-15
3 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
NIV
The Lord says that you are never alone. YOU are indwelt with the spirit of God. He knows every fiber of you, You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Seek out your secret place when you feel agitated and the Lord will fill you with His shalom peace. For you are called to walk in peace. "My peace I give to YOU"
be blessed.

The presence of God is real and comforting to me. I know that He is my heavenly Father and has forgiven me all my sins. I never get bored. I read The Holy Bible and write a lot about what I read. It is my prayer for you that you will fall in love with The Holy Bible and make reading it part of your everyday life. I could almost guarantee you would never again be bored.

I prefer being alone to going to church. However, i have ways of broadening my horizons. Simply taking a walk in the park always refreshes me both mentally and spiritually. Also, listening to other people's conversations. I'm more of a listener, and i can learn alot about people and god that way. For example, my bus driver gets into religious debates with passengers, and his answers are so simple that it makes sense. There are lots of wise people out there, its just a matter of listening for them. Not with your ears, but with your heart.

For me it is the best time to really feel free to praise God. It is a very personal time for me to spend with God. This gives me a peace that is awesome.
