If you define yourself as Catholic, what makes you so?

If you don't believe in any major Church teachings (Mass every Sunday, Confession, True Presence, etc.), do you still define yourself as Catholic, and why?

I am open about my faith and think it to be my duty given to me by Jesus to share my faith. I recently mentioned being saved in front of some of my boyfriends friends (he is a Christian) they are not. And was asked what that meant, I explained it to them and I was shocked to see extremely blasphemous images of Jesus and mockery on their myspace profiles after I explained to them what being saved meant. I quote some of it "Hold up! Let me put on my HOTTNESS and show you a sinner! lol Damn listen to me I need to be saved....Hold on let me pray..God please keep all of my family and friends safe from harm and please bring me a hot guy with a huge COCK..lol Yeah Im going to hell! Man, (name) that Jesus thing is funny ****...a little sick but funny. I know I know! Im going to hell! Damit I wish I was SAVED! Lol”. Reading this broke my heart, not that they mocked me, but their disrespect and blasphemy against Jesus. How would you deal with this? Would defending God be judgmental, or duty?

I'm a Christian but i've been wondering, with all the different forms (Lutheran, Protestant, Mormon, Pentacostal, Baptist) and not to mention all the other religions (Catholicism, Muslim, Hindu, etc.) if it's just better to believe in a higher power..

When Christians invented (replacement theology) it to begin with?

Islam is just doing to the bible what you did to the Torah. What goes around comes around.

With all the radicals, fundementalists, and war mongers do you think we are on the near side of a future religeous war?

If so, Which side do you think will "win". Also, in the religeous war, if the god/s of one religeon bother to show would that change the outcome?

But that is not true because In Proverbs 2 the Bible tells me to look for knowledge:
Proverbs 2: 1- 11 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, [and] apply thine heart to understanding;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding.
He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: [he is] a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; [yea], every good path.
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

My son is best friends with a boy who is Mormon. We are Christians, believe that Jesus died to save us. How is the Mormon religion different as far as beliefs? I have heard they used to practice that men could have lots of wives but they don't anymore. Thats about all I know.

I am out of here for the day, and I ask that you pray for peace and tolerance? For the Atheists try and listen to the arguements from these people, and disagree if you will without being ignorant. May you all, regardless of faith have a wonderful day.

In Islam, it is prophecied the complete destruction of Israel. In the bible, itis prophecied the restoration of Israel.

Do you you think the same God inspired both prophecies?

One believes the Bible is the Word of God, and the other think the Koran is the last Word of God & the Bible has been corrupted.

What Word do you think is the true Word of God?

Please answer all three questions.

Or in other words, aren't trying to tear it down by saying Joseph Smith was a false prophet and the Book of Mormon was a work of fiction, etc. I want a site that explains some difficult-to-understand LDS scripture and doctrine.

Those who aren't LDS, any good LDS sites will still be welcome, but they must be in the church's favor.

Is that what he wanted - for us to be pansies and get smacked around by criminals and theives?

The ten commandments pretty much say we shouldn't kill etc. What about animals? Is it OK to kill them? I mean, we could live without eating them.

Why isn't it OK to seek retribution in this corrupt world?

I'm a Christian by the way, but that part kind of gets to me because I'll go to Hell before I let someone hurt my child.

I don’t think there is much doubt today that all religions are just mystical cults with their clever magic tricks conjured up to awe inspire their believers and followers. Take the Christian mythological cult for example. God is supposed to have created the universe, incarnated (magic trick) himself as Jesus and written the Bible.

But today God is totally silent. The only thing we hear about God comes from people speaking on his behalf, namely cult leaders and followers, most of whom are lunatics and war mongers. If God genuinely existed, he would silence these people because they are an absolute embarrassment. Just check out some religious idiots who post on YA.

When you listen to these idiots trying to justify God’s love and existence, it takes very little commonsense to realise how imaginary God is. If God were real, he would speak for himself. The fact that God does not speak, and that he allows any lunatic who comes along to speak in his name, proves that God is imaginary.
