I am open about my faith and think it to be my duty given to me by Jesus to share my faith. I recently mentioned being saved in front of some of my boyfriends friends (he is a Christian) they are not. And was asked what that meant, I explained it to them and I was shocked to see extremely blasphemous images of Jesus and mockery on their myspace profiles after I explained to them what being saved meant. I quote some of it "Hold up! Let me put on my HOTTNESS and show you a sinner! lol Damn listen to me I need to be saved....Hold on let me pray..God please keep all of my family and friends safe from harm and please bring me a hot guy with a huge COCK..lol Yeah Im going to hell! Man, (name) that Jesus thing is funny ****...a little sick but funny. I know I know! Im going to hell! Damit I wish I was SAVED! Lol”. Reading this broke my heart, not that they mocked me, but their disrespect and blasphemy against Jesus. How would you deal with this? Would defending God be judgmental, or duty?

by responding, all you are really going to do is give them more material to use to make fun of you and your beliefs

I struggle with this one myself. It IS part of the 10 commandments. However, how many times have we misunderstood THE HEART of what God has said through these commandments. If you consider DO NOT MURDER, Jesus expounded on that one to say that if you hate your brother that you're a murderer at heart. Therefore, as simple as this one seems, could we still be missing the point of what God says about keeping the Sabbath holy. Once we start instituting what is holy and what is not, don't we fall into the same pit that the Jews did when they made up a bunch of the rules conderning the Sabbath. Jesus broke those as well as he healed and did other things that upset those that kept "the law". Don't get me wrong. I am of clear understanding that sin is the breaking of God's law (the 10) and that the Sabbath IS one of those. However, we have missed the mark before and I think that it is possible that we could be missing it this time as well if we make this rule about this ONE DAY, whichever it may be.

Unfortunately when we are filled with the Holy Spirit most people who do not know God cannot understand how "on fire" for the Lord we are and so they feel they have to mock us. My advice is for you AND your boyfriend, if he is serious, to get some good Christian friends - your youth group is a good place to meet people, or even your school if they have a Bible Club or something. Sometimes if you look around you might even see a group of kids reading their Bibles together at lunch and join them. Trust me, they are not going to deny a chance to share the Lord, just as you wouldn't. You can even bring your own Bibles to school, find a quiet corner for lunch, and have your own devotional time. Your boyfriend's friends are obviously blind to what Jesus has done to allow them to go to Heaven, and all you can do is pray for them.

Seeing sin hurts. Seeing disrespect and blasphemy against God hurts, and Jesus saw all that on the cross. What was His response? To pray. "Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do." Personally I defend Jesus every chance I get, but I try to do it in a non confrontational way. People may not take kindly to what you say, and they may not listen or "get it", but you know that you did the right thing and that you have the peace that passes understanding.

You are a beautiful person and God loves you very much. God Bless!

I think if you were truly open about your faith you would accept answers from any faith who believes in God. Those people are not blasphemous, they are simply ignorant. You cant be a blashmemist unless you have the knowledge about your faith. It sounds like they are young, and it is not for you to judge them. If this bothers you so much then don't expose yourself to them. They are free to believe whatever they want to believe. Don't be full of yourself. You will not change their minds. I believe pushing your beliefs on someone else is blasphemy in itself. Let the Hand of God deal with this. Do what is in your faith and just pray for them.

God does not have to be defended by us---he is perfectly capable of dealing with the situation in his way and according to his time. The only thing that you can do is pray for these people. The Holy Spirit will do the rest. Do not get into a wrestling match with these people---th4e devil is in them and only Jesus can bring them to safety.

If you were ever around them again, I would think Duty. But be careful, because people like that only want to hurt your feelings. On second thought, I would stay clear away from them. With friends like that you need no enemies. Just try and let the Holy Spirit guide you. And remember that Jesus said that the world would hate you because it first hated him. God Bless.

It is heartbreaking when others do not realize the price paid for each one of us. However before I was saved I was the same way. It didn't matter what people had to say to me about religion. I didn't care. God was walking with me every step of they way. He brought me to a place to where I couldn't get out by myself. I had no other choice but to trust Him.

God knows what it will take to bring others to Him. You can talk to them till your blue in the face and it wont do any good. You have planted the seed in their life. It is up to God now. Just live your life in a christian manner in front of them. don't argue with them. Christians are under a microscope. The world always looks at us to pick out our faults. So do your best to live the christian testimony. God Bless

wel, no offence but i cant quite understand why u'd even post a repeat of the blasphemy. It only goes to edify the devil's intentions. The least u can do is jus ignor them n avoid their 'myspaces'. But even better is to keep 'em in prayer, don't hate them for it, hate the sin bt not the sinner

Well, you might start by conremplating exactly what it is that you are trying to 'save' these people with... the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders... and:

*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys
*  shepherd staff turning into an asp
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  food falling from the sky
*  conception by a ghost
*  people raising from the dead
*  the sun stopping in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker

YOU should be listening to THEM, rather than trying to get THEM to listen to YOU.

Hand it over to God. If they Blaspheme God or Jesus to your face, well, than you take action to your better judgment. But, if it is in a website, hand it over to God. He will deal with them. You don't have to worry.
Everyone is allowed to have an opinion.
God has their number, he will do what he will do. Be patient.
