There is , nor ever has been, any such thing as a "religious" war. Many times, religion is used as an excuse for war, but it is never the core reason nations and peoples kill each other.
War is about control and the struggle to either acquire it or maintain it. The US is in the middle east because they want to maintain (and control) the stability necessary to ensure the steady flow of oil. Without that oil, the powers that run the US would have their control taken from them by the people. The middle eastern peoples resent their lack of control in their own countries and are doing the only thing they can to acquire that control ..... terrorize the US and their allies.
Israel wants to maintain control of their country and their opposition wants to acquire that control. They both understand that the only way control will change hands is the destruction of the Israeli people.

Have you seen the middle east? If that's not a religious war, I don't know what is!
As far as who "wins," nobody does. They just keep on killing each other until they run out of people. Unfortunately, people are an endlessly renewable resource.
And God getting involved is the only way this war will ever end.

On the horizon? Isn't there already at least one religious war being waged between Israel and Hezbollah? (Or, Israel vs. the citizens of Lebanon, who aren't necessarily even supporters of Hezbollah but are being used as human shields which is their tough luck, according to Israel?)
Unless the Norse gods decide to make an appearance in the future war between the Scandinavian countries and the aboriginal peoples of Australia whose deities don't seem all that tough, I doubt the appearance of any gods will factor in any outcomes.

As long as there are fanatical people in the world who think violence is the only way to bring about peace, then yes there is always the possibility of war. When religious factions collide, it isn't going to be pretty, that's for sure. in the end Peace will win , God will win and all the fanatical people will have destroyed each other over nothing.

We are in a religious war but I do not think the US will act on it as a religious war although that is what the JIHAD represents-and so do we file all muslims off to the camps like we did the Japanese?_I say we recruit them all and have them go to these countries and spread the word of FREEDOM-I see many muslims come on this site and STAND for their beliefs and are anti-US but the problem is they do not interrelate with their own religious leaders in these countries fighting us and I believe they should be asked to confront these people-show a representing assembly of some kind that extends the FREEDOM they enjoy here!

Religious Wars have been going on for thousands of years and have never stopped ...the answer in the past, present and future it's here to stay until the end of the world. It's too bad too. In war there is no winner.

We are in the middle of a religious war now, and once they all die, the atheists will reign supreme. The world will be a better place once the pathetic have killed each other off.
