We know that reason and evidence are the routes to truth, because they work. When NASA sends a spacecraft to another planet, and it arrives in the right place and the right time and sends back the images they wanted, the scientists know that the science is right because they got what they expected. Science gets results. If the science was wrong, we know that it would simply never work.

So how can we tell if religious beliefs are true? If they're not based on reason and evidence, aren't they worthless? If we have no way of confirming or falsifying them, aren't they indistinguishable from fantasies?

Often times we as christians are told to let God and Jesus into our lives, our hearts, and our minds. Yet at the same time, being so devoted we are referred to as God-fearing individuals? Doesn't this almost seem contradictory?

I love the athesit & agnostics and God does too!
Many of my friends are unbelievers and they are
where we once were.

I really like this form to explore the possiblities, to ask questions and to gain knowledge and understanding. When it's honest and not simple mud slinging that aims to insult or hurt each other
it can be very effective for everyone involved.

Do you agree?

I think that I will stop reading the questions that seem weird or insulting, or contain profane language and just concentrate on the ones that seem genuine...

does that seem reasonable to you?

So many religions, but no harmony and peace. Why? I am not religious nor do I believe in God, and I am not trying to insult. If there are so many religions and they all pretty much preach peace and harmony, then why don't we have that? What is it that drives religons to a competative state, instead of a state of unity towards the goodwill of humanity?

Also, can you answer any of my other questions, they have nothing to do with religion but I need answers, thank you.

Dear Lord, please forgive these people who have no idea of the power You can have over their lives. Please help them to see that their hate and intolerance is the devil's work and that the evil one has tricked them. Please help them to save their eternal lives before it's too late. Do they not know how great you are, Lord? Can they not be loving and forgiving as You are? Please let others who love You read this and answer with a prayer of their own or a word of agreement. Lord, I know that there are others here who claim to be Your followers who do not act like it. Please help me to act in Your image and do as You would do. In Jesus' most Holy name, Amen.

That when I recieve an email from one proclaiming to be a Christian that is insulting I can use what I learned from Christ (not being a Christian I might add) to respond without being ignorant? Why don't more people adhere to Christ's teachings in Matthew 7?
