If you are talking a Catholic Bishop (and there are a few renegade bishops who openly defy the Vatican in this country), it is still against the teachings of the Catholic Church to even so much as speak an insulting word against him in public (It has more to do with respecting the role than the man). Because the Church is a heirarchy, there are proper channels to go through to complain about his teaching or behavior.

usually both sides think they win
I dont believe in a seperate office of elder and bishop.
if it was my elder, it would depend on the topic and it would have to be done with respect and kindness and consideration
if he or she is one of these modern Episcopalian bishops who are tired of historic Christianity ... probably would beat the pants off them but most likely... the audience will go heavily according ot the views they already lean towards as is human nature
but Presyterians have Elders... Elder is from the hebrew and bishop or presbetry is from the greek...
seriously.... depends on the topic...
