Wow! I love Angela's answer. She said it all. I think when we are children, we are told so many things- some truths, some influences by our parents (others' beliefs) and we take all of this information into our hearts and minds. Unfortunately, we don't always tell our children to stand on their own. When we do find children and young people who do - we have names for them -they are belligerent, willful, determined, arrogant. etc. It seems the older I get, the less I feel I have to justify my actions to others. Not only my actions, but my personal beliefs, my personal space and right to say what I feel. I "DO" always try to temper what I say because I don't want to necessarily 'offend' others, or place them in a position to think that I am unapproachable. You know, sometimes we can say things that alienate - when that's not what we intended to do - and it could have been different if we had selected words that edifiy and not destroy. I am not there completely - but everyday I strive to make sure that whatever actions I do - they are in line with practicing that which is 'good' and 'positive'. No matter that justification is involved - I never want to insult or demean my fellowman.

I've never felt the need to justify my beliefs and I don't waste time trying to do so.

My actions are a different story. If my husband wants to know why I've done something, I will gladly explain my reasoning. I don't necessarily try to justify myself though. If what I've done is wrong (like being snippy at a co-worker), I will admit I was wrong.

No, because people will always look for discrepancies in our character and lifestyles. We will all have to give in account to God for actions when it is all said and done! We won't be able to justify anything when judgment day comes. As believers, we will always be placed under a microscope. Shalom.

God bless you.

If I do something I make sure it's something I don't have to justify. Others may feel differently, but I am always comfortable with the decisions I make in life.

No...I have to take personal responsiblity/ownership for my actions not justifiy them. That's a big issue in religion because many reilgious folks will not do that--they put the responsiblity off onto God (if there is one) or Jesus. Because all they have to do is accept Jesus into their hearts and do minimal penance than their actions are by implication always justified.

Not when I haven't done anything to have to justify. I have nothing to hide. I walk with my head held high. I am forthright, honest and live my life according to GOD'S will. I respect others and treat them as I want to be treated. I love and I cherish therefore justification for actions of honesty and love are not needed.........

When i first became independent I rented a room with other people. I always felt i had to justify my reasons and as I became confident with independence I gradually stopped this. I no longer feel the need for unnecessary justification.

No.You have to justify your actions to your own conscience, the inner voice. However to keep your conscience pure[morally] you have to constantly keep yourself in touch with the thoughts of great men which will be a guidance for what should be done and what should not.

No. As long as a I am conducting myself as a proper person there is no need to justify anything. I am human and I do make mistakes, when this happens, I apologize, forgive myself, learn from it and move on.

Its very subjective. If it is of concern to others and it does affect them, then i have to justify my actions...IF i ve a reason for doing sumthing and i believe its E right thing wherelse they feel its E otherwise...then there isnt a need :)
