if the same radical feminists don't believe in the authority of the office of Peter in the first place? One of the main differences between Protestants and Catholics is Catholics believe in the apostolic teaching authority that Jesus gave to His Church, and in particular to the office of Peter.

So if these people want the Catholic Church to change to be like the Protestant Churches who don't have a Pope with authority or the 7 sacraments, then why don't they stop calling themselves Catholic, become Protestant and let Catholics have freedom of religion to practice authentic Catholicism?

By the way, the Pope has no authority to change the example that was given to us by Jesus (God in the flesh) in the way Jesus chose only men for the 12 Apostles (first bishops).

If you do.. then that means that all of your answers are actually meaning something to someone. They need to hear what you have to say. You are on the computer right now for a reason... not just by chance. So think about what you are saying.. cause i guarentee it is effecting someone. Do you think this is true?

...And if the second is true, does that mean a baby born to a hindu or Muslim, or athiest family has no chance? I mean if they were to perish before they made the "right choice." If cultures in underdeveloped countries suffer and perish without ever hearing of Jesus, are they damned? I don't get this "special club" thing. If i live a good life as an athiest, do you believe I will go to hell when a pedophile christian preist will go to heaven. Someone explain this to me with some logic.

Ok, I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but you know what I'm talking about. If people hear something that's not in or doesn't follow the bible, then, through a hampster-like mind and the realization equivelent to that of a lawn chair's, they claim that the item or statement in question does not exist, has not existed, and never will exist. For example: someone on here claimed that "Dinosaurs don't exist, it's just a conspiracy made up from those crazy scientists thinking they can question the bible." WTF? I mean, c'mon: dinosaurs. There's proof of it in any museum! It's like looking at a 50 foot high wall and claiming that it's not there because a book that was written over 2000 years ago said that it doesn't. I mean, c'mon! What, do those people just sit under a rock and praise the bible all day long? Really. Plus another thing: we've been singing the same songs to god for thousands of years, and yet we don't seem to think that he might get slightly annoyed at our bad singing.

example: A girl went to fellowship late at night. she start to walk home alone. She asked God to give her a safe journey home. She took an alley for a short cut, it was real late at night. she asked God to walk with her down the alley. as she was walking a man came out as though he was waiting for her. She continued to pray. Amazing the all the man did was stare as she passed by. she arrived safely at home. A few days later she read the morning paper. A girl was rape/robbed in the same alley that she walked a few nights before. She quick told the police and tried to identify the looks of the man. the police asked if she wanted to help them identify the man by looking through a glass screen. she reconized him. the man admit everything he did. the her later asked the police can she ask him a question, the police agreed. She asked, "Why didn't you attack me in the alley a few nights before?" man said, "you weren't alone, there were 2 guys dressed in white walking with you."

Please explain how God the Father can justify the behaviour illustrated in the following verses:

Deuteronomy
2:30 But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.
2:31 And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.
2:32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.
2:33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
2:34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
2:35 Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

How does this reflect Jesus' message?

Every Christian I have talked to on the matter has given me no answer.
If Christians don’t believe in Reincarnation, then how can any of you say he will come back?
That’s the biggest contradiction I’ve ever heard in my life!

Reincarnation: The belief that one has lived before in another lifetime, and that one will live again after physical death.

1) The 1% of priests worldwide or the 10% of priests in America ACCUSED of sex abuse (not all were proven guilty) has nothing to do with what the Catholic Church teaches. If the priest who is accused is guilty then it means that they did not follow what the Church teaches.

It's like how Judas Iscariot betrayed our Lord. It would not make any sense to reject the teachings of Jesus just because a man went against the teachings.

2) The Protestants have more than their share of scandals (sex, violence, etc) so they are being hypocritical for trying to act like they don't have any scandal when criticizing the Catholic Church. When I criticize Protestantism, I don't have to resort to calling them sinners. I only look at how the teachings from the top of the countless Protestant congregations has been getting farther and farther away from the original teachings which have been preserved in the Catholic Church for over 2,000 years.

One thought that keeps arising for me is whether God is thinking and human-like, the "old man in the sky" micro-managing everyone's destiny, or more of a divine force that underlies all existence (karma, tao, The Force). What do you think and why?

I've noticed that many folks in here complain about God's ways. They look for loopholes, or dismiss God's nature outright. Is it because people think that the majority rules in heaven? Is it because people can't imagine a king with absolute authority?

I am very curious as to what people think.

Personally, I don't believe in evil. What we consider evil is anything that threatens our well-being whether it be in the mortal or immortal world. Hell, Satan, and demons are human fears personified.
If I may add, in the Old Testament [aka the Torah] there is no mention of hell. I believe it is only referred to as being far away from god. That can be interpreted as a pschological hell instead of a physical one.

I don't understand why God needs a contrast. God is all-powerful; so why can't he be good and "evil" at the same time? Plus he is all-forgiving...so wouldn't he forgive you if you honestly deserved it even if you did something really really horrible?
So shouldn't hell be unneccessary?
