Someplace high. On a hilltop or mountainside.
When I lived in Italy there was a place a friend of mine used to go. I never went to pray by myself there... mostly out of respect and I didn't want to feel like a copycat.
It was on the side of the mountain (Northern Italy... the Italian Alps) and you could see for many miles if it was clear.
It's great to pray someplace really high up. What that always does for me is it really puts things into perspective. There's an old saying "Don't sweat the small stuff.. and it's ALL small stuff." So when I get up really high and look down... it shows me that all that stuff that goes on down there where I live and work really doesn't matter a whole lot next to my relationship with Christ. There are things that are so much more important than even our very lives that we get really caught up in and hung up on... and they do - not - matter!
Only God is imortant in comparison to the world.
So many things in life that are just little nit-picky, petty things we get so caught up in and distracted by that aren't even important.
Try it sometime. Get up really high, look down on the world... and just talk with God... just listen to Him.

I am a grandmother raising 3 grandchildren I know how hectic it can be throughout the day!
My favorite place to pray is in the morning be-
fore the grandchildren get up. I get on my knees and give him praise which is due him.
I ask him to help me throughout the day.
Then I go into my bible and do devotions--they
really help. Prayer is supposed to be done in
private at any given time of day!!

Matthew 6:5-7 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words."
Alone with my God. Anytime, any place. In my car, while I am getting ready for work, before I sleep and when I rise.
Romans 12:9-13 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."
Ephesians 6:18 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

I pray when and where I need without really picking the place. But I find it best when it's quiet in my little space yet there is chaos around me...those prayers are the most meaningful.

Any place that is quiet where I can really meditate and pray. When I pray I want results. I want to sense his presence. Preferably at home alone.

In the car while I am driving. It is quiet with no one around to distract me. Yes, I must watch the road but I still can pray.

IN MY CLOSET OR ON TOP OF MY HILL IN THE OPEN MEADOW.
Mt 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mt 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

I pray anytime anywhere, but if I was to go somewhere to pray I like to go to the beach and of course to church.

I don't like praying, but I do meditate. In my room where it's quiet. Especially during a rainstorm. It gives the area a serene and calm mood.
