uhmmm, do you believe in drug altering methods i.e tribal herbs/medicines to attain such beliefs???

I suppose I do, but you are incorrect in assuming all beliefs have in common the absolute certainty of a higher being. Pantheism (google it) holds the laws of nature as paramount, but not as an entity, and they are not worshipped per se, they are just appreciated. I think Zoroasterism as well doesn't - I am not sure, but there are others. If you include cults, there are plenty that do not have a absolute higher being.

For me personally, no. In many cases I believe that drugs can actually cloud your perception. However, I respect those who choose to do so in a ritualistic and spiritual way. And I am sure that for those who are using them in the correct and respectful ways it works. I would just rather have spiritual experiences without altering my consciousness through the aid of drugs and herbs- to know that it happened on its own and I didn't have any extra 'help'.
