I've noticed that many folks in here complain about God's ways. They look for loopholes, or dismiss God's nature outright. Is it because people think that the majority rules in heaven? Is it because people can't imagine a king with absolute authority?

I am very curious as to what people think.

i totally agree. we don't understand what it means to NOT have a vote or a say in how things go. we are completely used to living how we want, doing what we want, and having it pretty good. but imagine living in feudal times with a king that made every decision and you had to go to him for permission for almost everything. have you read undercover by john bevere? he writes about that very thing.

That is not so, I believe. People have their own beliefs, which are all well and good, believing in god or not, or whatever else there is - but how they rationalize their beliefs to others, reconciling how they were raised with what they want to believe with what they want to be seen as believing, is the key here.

A person can have belief X, but rationalize it so it hardly makes sense to thinkers of the religion they claim to be in.

Don't listen so much to someone's rationale if it begins to not make sense, try to look beyond their words, what are they TRYING to say? Perhaps you will find that many people don't truly care what they believe, as long as they have a feeling of belonging.

I wish to have that feeling, but I am convinced I care what I believe, per se - I am agnostic. I am unsure of many things, but know that I need to do what I feel is right - and do my best to treat others the way I want to be treated.

What loop holes are you talking about? If I can find loop holes in anything that God supposedly wrote, then what kind of God is that. You statement makes no sense, because it is based on nonsense. No one should have sovereignty over another be you a God or not. We get two choices, Heaven or Hell. What kind of crap is that. A prison is a prison, no matter how much you sugar coat it, you need to wake up. It is all a story told to children like Santa Claus or the Easter bunny.

It's because not all people share your beliefs on the nature of god.

Some see him as a flexible, reasonable father-figure, rather than a ruler. Others see him as an absolute ruler, like you. Others yet don't think he exists at all.
There are many different sets of beliefs concerning god; it's not a matter of understanding, it's a matter of disagreement. They think you're wrong, or mistaken.

People will always argue about the nature of their gods because there is no reality there for anyone to be right or wrong about. Gods are made up by people and therefore inevitably will always be seen in many different ways.

I think it's because they have no true concept of Who or
What God is. If one is not able to recognize anything about God, how can they understand His sovereignty.

Not everyone thinks around your beliefs, and your God. God has no sovereignty to someone who doesn't believe. It's blind, and arrogant, to assume that everyone has the same beliefs, but they just haven't admitted it yet, or are being rebellious and stubborn.

I think you should stop worrying about other people's beliefs so much. Let things happen naturally.

No, I'm pretty sure there are non-Christians in countries that are ruled by monarchy, as well...

It is because we live in reality, and in reality there is no god.
