...And if the second is true, does that mean a baby born to a hindu or Muslim, or athiest family has no chance? I mean if they were to perish before they made the "right choice." If cultures in underdeveloped countries suffer and perish without ever hearing of Jesus, are they damned? I don't get this "special club" thing. If i live a good life as an athiest, do you believe I will go to hell when a pedophile christian preist will go to heaven. Someone explain this to me with some logic.

You also have to give 10% of your earnings to the church. Pretty sweet racket.

Apparently you have to ask Jesus to come into your heart and wash away your sins in order to get to heaven. If you are an atheist how could you believe in heaven in the first place? Personally, I have no idea what is right or wrong. But I do have some seriously religious friends who have been trying to get me to convert for years. I live a relatively decent life but they say that they will miss me in heaven and are sorry for me because I will not get there without Jesus. And don't forget about that baptism thing. Not to wash away the "original sin" but so that you are "reborn in Christ". That is what I am told anyway. I don't really get it either. But I have noticed one thing. People that have really deep faith seem to make it through the tough times a little better than the rest of us. Maybe one day I'll rethink that Jesus thing.

Dearheart,
The space inside us is bigger than our body's, and what you see is not all there is to know"". I have met an agnostic who is more Christ like than some of the Christians who claim to have Christ in there hearts. The agnostic is humble, lives to serve others, is loving, giving and one of the best people I have ever known.
Christ said the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand " there for life is what We make of it. We are Eternal beings and we have a daily reprieve based upon our spiritual condition.
When we practice the presence of God in our lives, life on lifes terms becomes simplified when we stay in the moment "at hand".This is WHERE we meet God in the here and now on an SUBATOMIC level in the spaces between the atoms, this is where we meet God, and in our INTUITION .That's why it is said to be an " inside job" And why our relationship with Jesus is so personal.
There is no eleitist "club" to join.We are all "MEMBERS of ONE another" This life is not a vail of tears, but one in which we can accsess Christ now in this moment, in each breath!! Hallalua!!!
"God is either everything or He's nothing"
Acknowlage Christ in you and in others, brings The Truth the Way and theLife into this and every breath. Earth IS the Paradise Planet. Its up to us to look within and find it." The space inside us is bigger than our body's, and what you see is not all there is to know"".

hey hun....great question it tells us in the bible that EVERY one will get the chance to hear Gods word...then it is there decision to accept it or reject it...i would also like to say that your faith and accepting God is what gets you into heaven not a church...there are people saved every day at there house at work and numerous other places....you see a church will not save some one because it is only a place of worship...and the bible tells us that simply being a good person wont get us into heaven....if that were the case then most every one would go and God wouldn't have had a reason to send his Son Jesus to die on the cross for us...Having said that there isn't a single person christian or other wise that is sinless on this earth...we are humans we make mistakes and we will ( and please dont take this to mean you should sin intentionally) always make mistakes until we meet our Lord in the air and are made perfect...i would also like to thank you for being open minded and curios enough to ask this question...i hope you get lots of answers to help you with it....love daisy

Christ said; "In my Father's house there are many mansions". Meaning, there are many different places or levels within heaven. He also tells us that; "unless ye become as little children ye will in no Wise enter into the kingdom of heaven." Meaning, unless we fully repent of our own sins and forgive all others of theirs, with all our hearts so our own hearts are mended and made whole as to be innocent, obedient and pure like little children, we will be unable to enter heaven. He tells us also that every kindred, tongue, and people will have the opportunity to accept or reject the gospel Of Jesus Christ. If not in this life, then the next. There are still places in the world where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not being taught. However, everywhere it is being taught, people are having that chance. If you choose to not accept it now. You are not living the kind of good life that is required to enter heaven. Don't feel too bad though. There are many, many people who call themselves Christians who will meat just as bad an end as you, because they have closed off their minds to the truth and translate the scriptures to suit their own desires.

All babies and children before the age of "accountability" go straight to Heaven. All "good people" do not go to Heaven. I do not believe a pedophile priest will go to Heaven, unless he accepts Christ as Savior and has been forgiven. You can be a good Atheist, but that's not going to get you into Heaven. Only one way and that's through Jesus Christ only.

well, you can go to church all your life , but that does not give you a place in Heaven. you must ask him into your heart. Babies go to Heaven until they are at the age of accountability. Everyones is different. I asked Jesus in my heart when I was 5,but some people may have a mental handicapped, and they may not reach it until they are 36. well, it still doens't make much since, but, it is even hard for me. Take care, and God Bless.

Good and Bad has nothing to do with it, for we are all bad. We all fall short.

Y'see, if we are to get in to heaven on our own, we have to live a perfect life. That means an absolutely perfect life. And that's impossible... It's like trying to long jump across the grand canyon--it's just not something we are capable of.

The wages for that sin--that falling short--is death. Perfection or death, that's the deal. Okay, it's a crappy deal by the world's standards at least, but it doesn't matter--that's the deal. Somebody has to pay that wage.

So it can be you with your life, or Christ with His life. Christ offers Himself as our substitute. If you accept that gift, then your debts are cancelled. If you do not accept that gift, then you must pay the debt yourself.

Yeah, I had this really sweet Christian friend in high school, and asked her what would happen to the tribes of people in Africa and South America and the like who had never even heard of the Christian god. She beat around the bush a lot and finally told me that yes, they were going to Hell. Of course, being an atheist, so am I, so I guess I'll keep them company.

Being good is not what gets us in Heaven.....WHY? Because no one is good enough. We are all filthy as rags. BUT the blood Jesus shed on the cross washed our filth and cleansed us so that now, IF we accept Him and His gift, we may enter His kingdom. Praise God!
For those who never had a chance to know Him, I believe they will get the chance --that is between them and their Creator, thier Judge....Be mostly worried about YOUR relationship with Him!!!

Just believers... according to mainstream. Some believe those who are ignorant of the belief will go... others use the all time favorite "ignorance is not an excuse".

There's no way to explain that with logic. I can't tell you that is logical and claim the God behind it is Merciful and Just. There's just no way to rationalize that.
