When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.

Then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible,
oh logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
clinical, oh, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep,
the questions run too deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
but please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, oh, respectable, oh, presentable, a vegetable!

At night, when all the world's asleep,
the questions run so deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
but please tell me who I am!

Normally I am a dumbass who has to wear special shoes and headgear so that I don't hurt myself...but when I get on Yahoo Answers I become incredibly wise and enligtened. I can't accept your praise though...it must be GOD or some supernatural force, right?

Group A thinks that Group B bases all of its morals and ideas on a book of fairytales and the word of a non-existing being.

Group B thinks that same book and Being are the absolute truth, and anybody who disagrees can have no morals.

Not all members of both groups are such extremists, but wouldn't it be much better is the both extremists parts of either group just started to ignore eachother? They will never agree in the end anyway.

Im a Christian but it seems that i cant actualy find another Christian that ive fell head over heels in love with as much as i really would prefer to. It seems that the girls that i do fall in love with just happen to be the Non Believers. Ive been in a few relationships but just not found the right girl for me yet. My Christian Friends say a relationship with non believers would never last what do you think?

We rush about too much always in a hurry. Whether you pray, meditate, or simply be, have you taken the time today to center yourself and enjoy this gift of life that is yours?

Matthew was a man. Mark, Luke , John, and Paul were all men. Was the Bible written by men inspired by God?

I know for Christians, scripture states "have you faith, have it to yourself," and clearly mentions that only the Spirit of God can reveal Christ to anyone. Though The Bible also says to share the Gospel and to be ready with an answer, that is not the same as trying to get people to embrace your belief. The gift of evangelism is not that common.

Why do you personally try to convert others?

I think there is two-fold - aethiests fell like they solved a puzzle in believeing that religion is a bunch od hooey. I think these particular one's actually followed Christianity literally and then started asking logical questions that they couldn't reconcile. So they want to 'prove' to everyone else that they are wasting thier time with religion.

or maybe its just me.. but heck, atleast i asked

I don't know how you feel, but I'm pretty sick of church people. You know what they ought to do with churches? Tax them. If holy people are so interested in politics, government, and public policy, let them pay the price of admission like everybody else. The Catholic Church alone could wipe out the national debt if all you did was tax their real estate.

Carlin has a valid arguement!

I heard from a friend, who is dating a Charismatic Christian, that said her boyfriend relayed to her that Charismatic Christians don't believe in Satan -- but what I'm reading online says different. Was wondering if any of you could actually enlighten me as to which is true?

A Charismatic is someone who believes that there is an experience of receiving the Holy Spirit subsequent to Christian conversion, which is usually accompanied by physical manifestations (of which the ‘gift of tongues’ is most common), and who further believes that this experience and the exercise of ‘spiritual gifts’ are the key to spiritual effectiveness

why are so many of the christians on here so freaking intolerent on here, i see so much anti gay crap on here from "christians" but its not just anti gay...an example, i asked the question "what is the difference beteween black metal death metal and thrash metal?"

i got this answer..."none,they all are of Satan and condemned to eternal damnation in Hell."

so anything a christian dosent like is condemned to hell and of satan (and for the record i know of some christian metal bands such as Zao, Tourniquet, Stavesacre, Petra, Project 86 and more...)

so my question is why are so many of the christians on here so ******* intolerent of what they dont like/understand and try to use theyre religion as an excuse to what they dont like, why cant they just leave it alone
