why are so many of the christians on here so freaking intolerent on here, i see so much anti gay crap on here from "christians" but its not just anti gay...an example, i asked the question "what is the difference beteween black metal death metal and thrash metal?"
i got this answer..."none,they all are of Satan and condemned to eternal damnation in Hell."
so anything a christian dosent like is condemned to hell and of satan (and for the record i know of some christian metal bands such as Zao, Tourniquet, Stavesacre, Petra, Project 86 and more...)
so my question is why are so many of the christians on here so ******* intolerent of what they dont like/understand and try to use theyre religion as an excuse to what they dont like, why cant they just leave it alone

This is a pretty easy one. You're not getting responses from a good representation of Christianity. Those good representations generally have something better to do. What you're getting is responses from the minority preachy sorts who really believe it is their mission to seek out those in opposition to their beliefs and condemn them into conformity. It's always been an unsuccessful way of preaching, but there are those that just like to bang their heads against the wall. True Christians understand that those who are called to their belief do not need to be bullied into it, they are drawn by God's love.
Hope this helps...and please, ignore those crazy rants they spew!
Many Blessings,
Lilyth

They can't leave things alone just like non-Christians can't leave Christian beliefs alone!
I don't know any Christians who would say things like "they are all of Satan and condemned to eternal damnation in Hell". There are also a lot of non-Christians out there who share the same ideals as Christians so please don't jump to conclusions.
As for being intolerant, we Christians are called not accept the ideals of the world. Its not a matter of what we don't like but what God doesn't like. And as for not 'understanding', just because one doesn't agree with something doesn't mean they don't understand it. Otherwise Christians could say that about those who trash our beliefs, which is probably a lot more closer to the truth because if non-christians 'understood' Christianity then they would convert.
Ha! How's that for a statement.

well, I am a christian, and about people being "anti-gay" I don't agree with them,i don't like what they do, but they're still human and deserve to be treated as such. Jesus hung out with non-christian people all the time, because they needed him most. And there is nothing wrong with death metal, just the lyrics, it's a form of music, just like worship music the only difference is how it's sung and played.

The ones that act that way....freaking out over music, tattoos, etc. are what I consider the zealots.
They are the ones who sit in church and keep a list of who's doing what....then catch you in the ladies room and start preaching to you how you'll end up in the lake of fire if you don't repent and remove said tattoos.
For some reason these people feel they've earned a free pass into everyone else's bedroom.
I think they have dirty minds....what else do you call obsessing over other people's sex lives?
They are just afraid of things they can't understand.
I think there are only two things in life:
Love and Fear.
We know where they're coming from.

If atheists can use their religion (or non-religion) to prove their points, Christians have just as much right to use religion to prove their points. Now that one statement you gave as an example is pretty retarded, and there's always going to be people you need to ignore. You'll notice that Christians tend to agree that gay is bad. You'll also notice that atheists tend to agree that gay is good. I see no difference, and I wouldn't become intolerant of their views just because they can agree on something they don't like. A for consistency, at least.
You wouldn't see a mature Christian saying that he hates Papa John's pizza and try to defend it with the Bible. But you see them do it for homosexuality. Why? The Bible actually addresses the issue. So stereotyping that Christians use their religion for what they don't like is quite the same boat as atheists who use their religion (or lack of) as an excuse for what they don't like.

You have to understand that not all who profess to be Christian are true Christians.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Most real Christians attack the sin.
I hate homosexuality, the act is an abomination.
I pray for the person who practices it.
But I wish he would practice it far from me.
You may not understand that we all sin, and we understand that a person can be separated from the sin.
A bank robber I also hate, but the individual I do not. One is the act, the other is a creation of God.
I hate a liar, the individual (Bill C) as a creation of God I love B. C. ,but until he ends his sin I want nothing to do with him. (I may know his Bill C. name but thank God he does not know mine!)

Where do I begin to explain to you the twisted mentality of the Religious Right?
They are weak minded, dependent people who cannot think for themselves, thus have to be led around by the nose by whacked out control freak ministers. Evangelistic, holy roller Christianity is a mental disease inflicted upon otherwise rational people by those wishing to access their monies by controlling their minds.
They are THE most hate filled people alive, yet they say they speak in the name of Christ. They hate anyone or anything their ignorant little minds cannot understand, which is a lot of stuff.
Just ignore them. They'll either get well, or they won't. In the meantime, they'll continue to make rational, non-Christians insane trying to figure them out. I quit trying a long time ago. I quit trying to change their minds, too. First, I think you have to have a mind in order for someone to change it.
Everytime one of them attacks me, I write their name on a piece of paper and burn it. Makes me feel better, cleanses me of all the negative energy they are trying to push down my throat.
Then I go sit under a tree and commune with nature, something they can't do because they don't understand that that is where all the power in the universe comes from. They think it's in a building somewhere, or up in the clouds where we can't see it.
It's like Jesus said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

You go girl! I was a Bible thumper in high school, but now I finally see the light! The Christians you are describing are so ignorant and insecure, they are the type who say, "I am right cuz I am right!" Exactly why I am not in church anymore. I want to be tolerant, peaceful, and not afraid of fire and brimstone! I am much happier now and treat people so much better!

I am a christian and I do not condemn Gay people...honestly. God loves them. So do I. My daughter is gay and loves Jesus with all her heart. She showed signs of being gay as a small child. There was no way to change her and quite frankly I didnt want to.
God does not like anyone gay or straight to be in sexual relations unless married, so if anyone is gay, they should remain sexually inactive. I am straight and not married and do not engage in sex. It is quite possible and actually quite free-ing.
