The holy scritures were inspired by God, and through the perfect operation of the Holy Spirit in the lives of godly, sanctified men, were written for the edification of the church body both then and now.

the bible is a bit like that old joke about an elephant being an animal created by a committee. It is so obviously the work of primitive man...well to a rational person anyway. Not too many of those in this room anyway.

Its such a hodge podge of ancient myths, legends, historical inaccuracies, scientific impossibilites, contradictions, errors, that if if really was wriitten by a god (or at least what he told man to write)....he must have graduated last in his class at deity school

"Mark" was written 1st...at the earliest about 70 CE, or at least 40 years after the mythical events. Imagine someone today trying to write a first hand account of say Woodstock, without access to anything except word of mouth. Matthew Luke and John copied different versions of Mark early in the 2nd century, and added from a few other documents, dropped a few things, changed the meaning of some other things and made up a few new miracles to boot. Oh, and most biblical archeologists think "Luke" was probably a woman. You GO girl...who said the church was patriarchal.

Psalms 68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpertation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost...hey hun the bible was physically written by man but not of their own thoughts or imaginations but of God's...hope this helps...love daisy

It was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit (God).

The early Christians revered lots of books as holy. It was at the councils of Hippo and Carthage in the late fourth century that the Catholic Church, under Pope Saint Siricius, determined which books were inspired and which were not.

God is the word. God wrote it using man. think of it like an author using a pen. The pen does all the writing, but without the author, the pen can't write. in the same way, the bible as we know it is God inspired.
