Reading the Bible gives comfort in times of sorrow, helps our faith grow and much more. But, most importantly your listening to God.

I havent read my bible in so long. When I got out of church I laid it down as well. When I started coming to Yahoo questions and answers I started reading it again.

1Tm:2:1: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Tm:2:2: For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Tm:2:3: For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Tm:2:5: For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Tm:2:6: Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1Tm:2:7: Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

I read the New Testament and then I just ended up getting the Old Testament on tape and listening to it, but I haven't finished... the "Begats" got really annoying and I stopped.

Absolutely. I have read it all the way through 2 times. I try everyday to read a few chapters. when Jesus saved me, He gave me the desire to read His word. He is the one who i put my Faith, and Trust in.

There are lots of real stuff in the world to read. Why waste time reading fiction? :)

I do. Even though I can't read that much. I get frustrated easy. I read every day - every night.. I love to learn about God. I love God and I love His word.
