I think most Charismatics "do" believe in Satan, but he is a small, unimportant, and largely metaphorical part of their belief system. The important thing is the Gospel, the happiness of witnessing for Christ and the good news He brought through the Holy Spirit.

Charismatic Christians all believe different things as there is no central governing body or charter. Many of the things they believe in are wrong like speaking in tongues, their version anyway, which is just babbling nonsense. In the Bible, speaking in tongues is talking in other languages so that foreigners can hear the Word of God. Accompanied by translation of tongues. Being "slain in the spirit" is another example of some made up psycho-spiritual experience which has no basis in scripture but can be effectively manipulated by skilled televangelist or tent-evangelist types usually as evidence of the speakers holiness and worthiness to receive MONEY from the people.

There are many varying types of Charismatics it depends on what part of the country you are in, what type of Charismatics there are.
The word Charismatic it self, may be defined in one way. While the life, people live defines the word, yet another way. The latter in this case best defines the word. The old saying is true, " don't watch what people say, watch what they do".
Charismatics receiving the Holy Ghost and speaking tongues is usually not the same as commanded in the Bible in Acts 2:38, "Then Peter said unto them, Amend your lives, and be baptized everyone of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins: and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Ghost. "
The ones I have known was taught to speak in tongues in the back room somewhere, not by the Holy Ghost.

Sounds like you answered your own question. All the Charismatics I know believe in Satan. I don't believe a true Christian can deny the existence of Satan.

Ask your friend's boyfriend to explain this....
Nowhere does Scripture teach that tongues is the evidence of being baptized with the Spirit. In fact, Paul makes it clear that not all believers speak in tongues (1Cor 12:30). Also, if as mentioned previously, people of various non-Christian faiths speak in tongues, how can it be a sign of Holy Spirit baptism?

Hello friend,
Bless your heart, you stated that so well, you just about don't need an answer.
But being verbose and unable to pass this up, please allow me to proceed with caution.
In the truest sense, a Christian is one who has heard and obeyed the Gospel according to God's Book.
That being so, one who is a faithful Christian is one who believes
what God has said about the Devil. Which is, he is the father of lies and seeks to steal kill and destroy. Check out Jn. 8:44 and 10:10.
Simply put, Christians who are real, know that the Devil is real and out to devour everyone in his path.
Regardless of the title or name man gives to other men, (Charismatic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Catholic, etc) God alone knows the individuals' heart and whether they are His own.
Everything apart from just Christian is religion and profits nothing.
Blessings,
2 Tim 2:7
