It's not the spirit that leaves the body hon, it is the astral or etheric body that separates from the physical. The baby's spirit and astral body remain quite intact when the mother-to-be engages in astral travel. Although the two physical bodies of mother and baby are connected, their spirits/souls/astral bodies are two different entities. Unless you consciously take the baby's astral body with you - which can be done but is not recommended - the baby remains as a whole.

The fetus does not have a spirit until just before it is born so you are not leaving it behind.

Astral and Ethereal Projection are dangerous. I am an ex-wiccan who went too far too fast and almost died as a result. Give it up, it's not worth the risk, and there are risks.

maybe the spirit doesn't possess the fetus till the moment of birth and first breath.

Sorry I am not now, never have been, and never could be a pregnant women, but you still got my two cents.
