assalamualaikum! praise be to Allah that you have been guided to embrace your true fitrah (inclination).
what do you mean by memorizing the Quran? do you understand Arabic? it is most important that you understand how individual letters and vowels join to make meaning in Arabic before you set out to memorize the Quranic verses by yourself. Many words in Arabic sound alike to those not familiar to its meaning - the danger is to commit to memory verses whose parts are made up of words you distort becos you do not really know what they mean. you'd be saying the wrong thing - like "heart" could be "dog". they sound pretty alike! the best advice i can give you is to contact your local islamic center or masjid and seek a knowledgable person from that institution to help you. maybe take up a Quran reading class with some sisters or brothers. the best time to contact them would be during the weekly Friday prayers. good luck!

Yes, Salaam. I'm sorry that I don't have any tips. But I have memorized many Suras one by one. My best advice would be read Quran that is translated and try to understand, acknowledged what those verse means. You might find Allah's words are pleasurable.

May Allah bless you and grant you peace! Ameen.

I've met folks who've memorized it phrase for phrase, so sure, it is viable. Still, what is the factor in that? It's the message of the Bible, now not the particular wording, that is fundamental for us to be trained. A man or woman who is aware of the phrases however now not the that means in the back of them is not doing himself any favors.

yes you should mark the "AYAT" for no longer than 7 and if they tell a story you should mark all the story or if it is long devide it to two parts or three . try to save these segments in your memmory and then come to anther segment to finish the "SORA" and remeber if you finished two segmwnts memorize them and say them to yourself before beginning another segment . if you finished 3 memorize them befor the 4th....................... etc . when you finished a big part try to say it in your "SALAH" to remeber it and save it . good Luck "Ya Rab Havezha Al - Quran Al - Kareem" . i wish that for you .

it was more helpful for me to start with the short suras,109-114,I would go to bed at night reciting them and wake up with them fresh on my mind.when i memorized 109 i would recite it all day for a couple of days then move to the next alwats reciting them in order as to not forget any also the names and numbers, you never know when you may need to discuss a sura with someone.you may also make supplications to Allah for knowlede and memory improvment.insha'allah you will do great with this,be very positive in your thought and studies .wa alaikumu salaam

As Salamu 'alaikum and welcome to Islam!

You need to find a good Islamic school and teacher. Here is a good website to find a school and masjid nearby:

May Allah bless your journey ahead. Be strong, don't give up or listen to negative people.
