i dont understand.....why are people in the religious section asking and answering questions and then get offended or boo-hoo about how much they are being preached to. if you dont want to hear about religion or GOD or JESUS or anything fo the sort....Get Out!

Innocent children die from starvation and aids every day. Every day innocent people suffer genocide, torture, persecution, disease, and death

If there was a conscious God responsible for all this, allowing it to continue, why would anyone want anything to do with him/her/it?

I have read - in a number of posts - some say, based on an interpertation of Matthew 5:17-19, that Jesus fulfilled the "Old" Law and they are no longer bound to it.

If so, then why are we, as a nation, battling over whether or not the Ten Commandments should be displayed in government buildings, like courthouses?

Or is this not the "Old" Law that Jesus fulfilled?

To begin with god consists of three “faces” Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Even a pigeon got to be part of god and all woman got was a second place in creation from Adams spares and a leading role in “How to get kicked out of Heaven”.
How likely is it that a woman will ever become a Pope or even a common priest?
Doesn’t all this indicate strongly that religion is a man made thing? (in this case “man” as in “male”)

I am not Muslim, Jewish or Christian ... but I have studied Semitic languages ... including Levantine Arabic and Hebrew for over twenty years ... and including also the Quran and Torah ...

My question to all Muslims is this ... How or why do the Sunis and Shiites not believe that Israel should have the right to "exist" that was granted to them by the UN and world community in 1948?

It is not an oil rich, or even resource rich land ... And Arabic peoples possess a wide continent around it that is both oil and resource rich ... I understand well the historic claims put forth on both sides of this issue ...and should add that historically Palestinian peoples were also displaced in Jordan- and were never given a right to found an autonomous nation in it's midst...

I should add that I am a huge admirer of Arabic culture- especially sufism ... I love Jalaluddin Rhumi, Kahlil Gibran etc ... historically there was a time that Arabic culture was the "flower" of this world...

Does it make sense to say that God will let you choose what you wear today, how your hair is styled, which religion you follow, whether you want to go to Heaven or Hell-- but He/She has already picked out your life mate for you and you better just like 'em or lump 'em? Did God command us, "Now go find that drop in the ocean or be lonely forever!"

I have been studying different religions personally for a while. While I try to talk to everyone of different faith, I found their belief is much more virtuous than what is being said among the internet discussions. Why would those anti-mormon believe something the Mormon believers have never heard before. To me, as an observer, it just shows a lot of misunderstanding and lack of study before they even make such critism.

What is the point of Hell? If an evil person were to die and go to hell for, let’s say, 10 years or even 100 years and then “rehabilitated” went to heaven with the rest I would see some logic to it. What’s the point of an endless punishment? The reason punishment exists is to prevent you from repeating the same mistake. This makes me understand that if there were a god he would be a sadistic one, not a loving.
