Enoch is waiting in death for the resurrection, in Hebrews 11:5 it says that God transferred Enoch so as not to see death. In other words, God took back Enoch's spirit, or life force, so he would not actually experience the pangs of death. Enoch walked with the true God during very wicked times. God was taking Enoch out of this situation becaused he loved him so.

ENOCH was "translated." Where did he go? Was he immediately taken to heaven? NO! Because Jesus Himself said: "No man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man" (John 3:13). Here are Jesus’ own words that no man, except Himself, had ascended into heaven!
And how did He know? Why, He came from there!
Then where is Enoch? Let’s see what the Bible says.
Remember, Moses didn’t write that Enoch did not die. Rather Moses wrote that "Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him" (Gen. 5:24). Paul records the same event by saying that he "was not found, because God had translated him" (Heb. 11:5).
Thus the Scripture records that Enoch was not found because God took him, or "translated" him. THE BIBLE DOES NOT SAY THAT ENOCH WENT TO HEAVEN when he was translated. Instead it says he was not found.
Certainly Enoch was "translated," but what does the word "translate" mean?
Strange as it may seem, nowhere in all the Bible does "translate" mean to make immortal!
The original Greek word for "translate" is metatithemi. According to Strong’s Concordance it signifies: transfer, transport, exchange, change sides.

He was raised up, along with his Zion people, a people without poor among them, who had no guile. A people of pure heart and pure intentions. Where do such people live? In the presence of angels and the Masters. Where is that? Beyond the veil? Will they return? It is promised. When? When the earth is filled with such people.
What else do we know of these people? The Dead Sea scrolls contain a book of Enoch. There were some papyrii found in Egypt written by Moses that mentions them as well. Probably more.
I've included a scholarly article called Enoch the Prophet. It's written by a professor of ancient scripture who spent his life studying dead languages as well as known scripture. As he states in the beginning of the article, he's summarizing some of what's been found about Enoch that wasn't written by Joseph Smith, so a person could compare what Joseph couldn't have known about Enoch, yet included in his translation of the Egyptian papyrii. That's one way you could read that article, or you could just summarize all these other non-Joseph-Smith-based accounts of Enoch to begin seeing what's been found about him in the last 150 years or so.
The second link is a whole lot more published about Enoch and commentary on it.
If you really want to know more about this, you'll have a bit of journey to get through it. I'm available through my Yahoo! Answers profile if you have any questions.

I believe he is with God and Elijah, Enoch and Elijah are the 2 witness of the end times. They have to come back and die then be resurrected. Jesus said that was appointed for man to die once and then the judgment, also said that no flesh will inherit heaven.

The bible gives a breif account of his life. It says he walked with god and he was not, The book of Jasher gives an explanation to this, according to that he kept going into holy isolation (like the early christian monks). This is why they say he was not. But it also says that he went out into the desert with some followers and ascended into heaven on a fiery chariot, a bit like Elijah.
