I can still remember a dream I had over a year ago like it happened last night. It was so real, it's scary!

Just a message for some of the users out here.

Today I answered a question out here, giving my OPINION, which I believe I have the right to do, being that I answered the question, and then recieved a very rude email from another user (not the one who asked the question) saying that I had no right to that opinion. I find this terribly inconsiderate and not very polite. I give YOU the right to profess your opinion out here without sending you a nasty email, dont I have the same right?!? Its alright to debate other people out here, and answer different arguments, but there is NO need to insult or send emails. I think people out here to need to learn a little more respect for other people and their opinions. FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!

If the Universe is that old, which means it never had a beginning or will have an ending, then why do you need a creator? If there is no beginning, then there is no need for someone or something to start the process. Nothing for the creator to do. Are humans "placing" a creator where none exist?

As Stephen Hawking said, “The Universe just is.”

I believe the bible is good as a guideline. But I think that people take it entirely too far and too seriosuly now a days.
I've heard people use the bible to back up their views on sexism, racism, hatred toward gays, etc.
When you boil it down, I think that the bible is a very old outdated book with a lot of violent and sexist views. Come on now...it's archaic and it was written by a bunch of men in a time when women had no say in things. I don't recall one of the 10 commandments being "follow the bible verbatim." I don't even think that Jesus would agree with most of the things in the bible. It just really bothers me when I hear people who call themselves Christians use the bible to back up their hateful judgemental opinions. I really don't think that is what God would want us to do.

From what I understand, "saved" means that if you accept Jesus as your savior then you have a place in heaven. If you do not accept him as that, then you don't have a place in heaven. What bothers me is that I believe in a loving God...one who isn't going to punish people who were raised in other cutures and were taught to believe in something different. Most Christians only believe what they believe because they were raised their entire lives being told it. People in other cultures should not be punished for being just as willing to believe what they have been taught as Christians. I beleive in a loving God, and I do not beleive that a loving God is going to send all the non-Christians to hell because they aren't "saved." That doesn't make any sense to me. It's such a narrow-minded way for some Christians to think. It's like saying "we are better than everyone else so anyone who doesn't believe what we beleive is going to hell." It seems ridiculous to me. (BTW I'm a Christian)

This is not so much of beliefs. I feel it has more to do with what was reported and also using a lot of inference. I hope the guys with STRONG RELIGIOUS BELIEFS will take my question within their stride.

Many people reported in near deaths situations of seeing a bright light before they lift off from their body and journey into a world of peace. It is a world of nothingness that no one of us can describe in layman's language. There is no heaven as we know it. There is no god. Just nothingness but peace.

The question is this. Could this be the real world the universe really is?

Is all the perception we have of what that is around us really NOT THERE? I do agree under normal circumstances, what I say can sound very silly. Of course, all that is around us is there. We can see and feel them.

Im a Christian and he's a christian. He is becoming like a puritan and keeps saying thank you Jesus if he scores a touchdown in a videogame. I keep telling him quit because I dont think God is helping him play the game. He comes back with "in the bible it says to not limit the lord". What do I come back with? Is there a verse that I can comeback with?

I see alot of questions about God hating sinners... and gays... and taxes. Yadi-yada! A common response is God doesn't hate... and another is God hates the sins not the sinner...
I'm just curious... if God doesn't hate, how could God hate sins? That is such a "people" thing to say... considering how loosely we throw around such big words like "hate" and "love".
This isn't so much a question... just an after thought from some of the answers to questions I've read.

Here's a bit of Phelp's wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rev._Fred_Phelps):

"Phelps has gained national attention for interrupting the funerals of American servicemen killed in Iraq, staging cynical, mocking protests against the United States government, the deceased soldiers, and their families. He claims such deaths, along with other tragic events such as the September 11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina, are caused by God because of his hatred of homosexuals and America's tolerance of them. Along with funerals, Phelps and his followers frequently picket various events, especially gay pride gatherings and high-profile political gatherings, and even grand openings of new Starbucks coffee houses, arguing it is their sacred duty to share their views with others."

Here's his organizations website:

Are these people not the most disgusting, hatefull people you've ever seen? How can anyone agree with him?

5. Do you believe that your God is anti-homosexual?
If so, explain why he would create homosexuals in the first place.
If not, refute or explain away Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:26-27.36.

To me yoga, meditation and such inner healing practices are well defined disciplined forms of exercises which helps us to nurture and maintain our mental, physical and spiritual health. But I find it extremely disturbing to see a number of specialists and experts in teaching yoga and meditation claiming themselves to be God. They cleverly disguise their own way of religious/spiritual practices into their yoga and meditation techniques. They have thousands of followers and tell their followers to 'stay away' from their families and loved ones and not to go to temples, churches etc because being close with loved ones and going to places of worship (claiming these places have bad vibrations!) will bring a lot of negative feelings into their mind and soul. Many of these so called gurus are very very rich and boast a luxurious life. Are they not ashamed to call themselves God and how is it their activities have gone unchecked for so long.....? Can people be so very naive and stupid?

Since the Father is the one you are supposed to worship? Shouldn't he be the one with the better characteristic ... Most merciful, Most loving.etc.

If so why is it people hold Jesus dearer then the Father? Attributing him better qualities?

In otherwords..if god loved the gay man or woman, but hates what unnatural act they do (this is what alot of what you people have said) that would mean that he would abolish the act, not the person in eternal damnation (as some of you people believe) Im not buying the idea that You think god is divided in his hate for things. A person is defined by what acts they commit, for instance. If a serial killer kills children, he is forever a child murderer. Does god still love him? NO, by your standards he will burn forever and you pious people will be up in heaven with all the starving babies in africa who God wanted as angels..so they starved so he could have pretty angels..oh..praise him! What a just god!...ohhhhh yes...praise him!
