Im a Christian and he's a christian. He is becoming like a puritan and keeps saying thank you Jesus if he scores a touchdown in a videogame. I keep telling him quit because I dont think God is helping him play the game. He comes back with "in the bible it says to not limit the lord". What do I come back with? Is there a verse that I can comeback with?

My woman yells out stuff like "Oh sweet Jesus" and "Oh my God" when she's about to come, but I don't think she actually believes God or Jesus are assisting in her climax.

Do a Bible verse search for "video" and then refer to that resource. Make sure that you select a modern language translation so he will have a literal explanation. OR you might just slap the little booger up side the head and tell him to stop taking the lord's name in vain.

If Jesus can save you from your sins, then I think he can manage saving your brother from a 4th and 11, with 17 seconds left in the videogame, when he's down 31 to 27.

I mean, c'mon! He's Jesus!

Religion is 90% faith and 10% spirituality. So if he feels that way- let him be. If we can ask for Gods help while fighting a major war, why not video games!!! its just a feeling of being helped by an external force called God. Remember even the losers in any competition asks God to help him but he doesnt win!!

How about “Don’t take the Lord’s name in vain?”

Does he also say “Thank you Jesus” when he wins war videogames? Because that would be the crusades all over again…

A non-believer…

Is there a reason he cannot express his faith as he sees fit? If he is wrongly rejoicing in the Lord, do not worry about rebuking him. Instead, see fit that he IS rejoicing in the Lord. If it's insincere, it's between him and the Lord.

Go to Phillipians 4:8. Is a video game described there? NO, it's not. Finally, brothers, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are OF SERIOUS CONCERN, whatever things are RIGHTEOUS. Is a video game any of these things? NO!!!!!!!!
I hope this helps.

Tell him to pay more attention to the juicier parts of the Bible, like how it's all right to own slaves, and how you should plant only one crop in your fields, and how it's cool to beat your wife. Have fun with it!

Is your brother drunk? I have an uncle who does something very similar when he's drunk.

Seriously though, he'll get tired of it eventually. Just practice and start winning more and he won't be able to say that.
