To begin with god consists of three “faces” Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Even a pigeon got to be part of god and all woman got was a second place in creation from Adams spares and a leading role in “How to get kicked out of Heaven”.
How likely is it that a woman will ever become a Pope or even a common priest?
Doesn’t all this indicate strongly that religion is a man made thing? (in this case “man” as in “male”)

Thanks for the info on the woman pope, didn’t know that. But still you get what I mean and every Christian knows it in their hearts that women are undermined in this religion. When I read that “God’s son came through a woman” for an answer though I become disappointed. Still Jesus is the superstar and the Virgin Marry is the limousine that brought him to the Academy Awards if I may make that analogy. It’s not the same to be "IT" and to bring "IT" into the world…
I am aware of the superiority of women way back then, when men didn’t realise that it takes two to make babies and thought women were deities for having children.

From answer to my question: “…GOD's first commandment in marriage is "Husbands, love your wives as God loves the Church"…”

Ok, so first of all, why doesn’t god refer to the woman first and say “Woman, blah, blah, blah…”?
Second foremost, man is parallelized to God-the divinity, while woman is the church-imperfect humans.

This is a loaded question, and there's no way the whole answer can be conveyed to you on this little post. To make a few points, though, who told you that Christians hated women? I shouldn't even have to answer this question, as there is no truth behind it whatsoever. Second, God is male according to the Judaism and Islam, too. Do they hate women, too, or is this just a Christian-bashing session? Lastly, perhaps nobody informed you that boys and girls are different. I know, it's a wild concept. Science has proven that men and women are physically, psychologically, and biologically different. What does this mean? For starters, it is bound to mean that there are some things than women can do that men can't, and vice versa. The Church has known this for 2,000 years. Science is just now finding out. I hate to be controversial or politically incorrect, but, let's face it folks, there are just some things that women can't do... This does not make women less loved by God: God loves all equally, showing no partiality. However, male and female are different. We can see the same thing between Caucasians and African Americans. Both are people, and they are equal. This does not mean, however, that they are the same. Any African American comedian would gladly tell you that. Why, then, is it so hard to admit that men and women are different? Get over it!

P.S. Don - I'd like to see the proof that there was a woman pope. This is just as fictitious as the DaVinci Code, and is a ridiculous assertion.

That is a goofy question. The highest Human in Heaven is Mary, the mother of Jesus. The pidgeon is a visual aid in artwork to signify the holy spirit. Actually, Adam is the one that gets the blame in Man's fall from grace, because he failed to protect Eve from the influance of evil. A woman will never be a Pope or a Priest in the Catholic Church, but the Church would be lost without them, supporting and guiding and doing alot of ministry. I don't take it on offense in the slight that I will never be Pope, and God dosen't have anything against women, neither does Christianity. Jesus was really good friends with a number of women, so much so that there was room for the Da Vinci Code controversy. I don't believe in the heresy, however, Jesus and Mary Magdalene were very good friends, and she was the first to see Christ after he had risen from the tomb. A woman was the first to tell about Salvation, the thing that Christ was sent here for. The question, I think, is why do you think that Christianity has something against women?

Hmmm. Man creates religion (often) because man seeks power. If man doesn't have to share, man doesn't share.

But, good news, that's not the whole story. Yes, you're telling the story the way people tell it, but that's not the whole story.

What's the role of Woman in God's presence? Sacred, holy, above reproach, too beloved to mention Her name, life-giving. Is Woman less than Man in any way? Not at the Source.

What about here on earth? Look first to the legends and myths, and then see if something resonates about these things. Mother Earth is She who could create a space to bear all of mankind's burdens. She alone had the unconditional love to withstand it all, and at most she weeps and trembles at times. She brings newness of life seasonally, is all wise, all powerful, and unconditional love. She is perfection. What of Man? Father Sky creates an atmosphere of separation, that mankind may exist. Father Sky provides, protects, enobles. The two work hand and glove together without a battle of the sexes, jealousy, or anything of the kind.

What about the role of woman in religion? For those religions that are man made, maybe she will, maybe she won't. I'm not too concerned about those, for those too shall pass away. But, what lasts? Where is the value? The basic unit remains: the family, and there is where the perfect harmony between man and woman can be created.

It was actually a dove that the Holy Spirit took the form of during Christs baptism.
Men in God's word are told to cherish their wives, to care for the widow and the Proverbs 31 woman receives much honor.
Women were judges in the old testament, queen's that saved the nation, helped the spies in the promised land and walked and talked with Jesus. They were even the first to see him after the resurrection.
Women have received much honor in God's word and there is no distinction between men and women in heaven and how they will be rewarded.
After looking a little closer, women don't have it too bad at all!

A woman also bore and gave birth the the Son of God. A woman was the first evangelist. Christianity itself doesn't hate or disparage women, the men in power do. And that makes them human, with all its failings. As for will a woman ever be a pope or priest, probably not. And as a woman, I don't care or even think it matters. God loves me as much as any man be he pope, president, husband, whatever. So why should I care what a simple human man thinks if God loves me?

Christianity does not hate women. Men and women were both created in God's image and likeness, with equal dignity. Repeat: they are EQUAL.

The Holy Spirit is not a pigeon, or dove or any other bird. He is a spirit, the third person of the Holy Trinity.

The original sin that got Adam and Eve kicked out of Eden was not Eve's fault. It was both of their's. The sin was disobedience to God.

Church teaching is that women can never become priests. I don't fully understand why but that is the teaching. I'll get back to you on that if I can.

Say What!?

Christianity does NOT hate women. On the contrary, Eve was made from the rib of Adam, to make them one whole. Eve was created with a purpose! If it were not for women, there would be no man-kind.

Secondly... It was NOT a pigeon, it was a dove you imbecile! AND I personally do NOT want to become a pope or priest. Let the men handle the powers of the priesthood, and I will be the mother, and wife, and nurturer, supporter, care giver, chef, ouchie nurse, teacher, friend, sister, etc... I think women have enough work to do as it is!

And lastly, women are VERY respected in many religions! So don't go bashing everyone because of your stupidity and lack of knowledge!

Christianity isn't about hate. It's about love. It's about Jesus Christ coming down from the glories of heaven, to live a sinless life and die to pay the world's penalty for sin. When you repent of rejecting Christ, believe He is who the Bible says that He is, and receive him as Lord (the boss in your life) and personal savior (the person who volunteered in YOUR place, taking the death penalty YOU deserve) then you will be saved.

Not sure what you mean about a "pigeon got to be part of god" (A pigeon isn't).

Adam and Eve were kicked out of Heaven because:

1) Adam disobeyed God and ate the fruit he was commanded not to eat.

2) Eve was deceived by Satan because she is a woman and as such, she often thinks with her heart, not her head. As a result of this, women are deceived more easily than men, and led off into paths they should not go (such as feminism, and ideas about becoming God, or a Pope, or a Priest, etc. etc.

That was how Eve was deceived in the first place, because Satan tempted her with the knowledge of good and evil, and her thinking that she could become like God.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The position men and women hold on this earth are the ones given to them by God. Men do not hold the position they do because they are better than women. Men and women hold the position they hold because of the divine plan of God. If you rebel against God's plan, then you are rebelling against God. If you rebel against God, then it is because you hate God.

So, I would ask you:

1) Would you want to rebel against God?

and if so...

2) Why do YOU hate God so much?

Your argurment don't float. There are women Priests and Preachers. Religion is not man made it's God made. As for the Pope thing, I'm not Catholic, I'm Baptist, I don't even really totally get the Pope thing period, to me he is putting himself on the level of God and thats wrong. I just wonder how many little boys are ruined by so called Catholic Priests (male) every year.

God does NOT hate women. When GOD created Eve, she was taken from the rib of Adam. This is symbolic, meaning that she be beside him always.'Woman', in Hebrew means 'Out of Man'.
Woman does not get second place to a bird. GOD loves all of us-- and I mean ALL of us.BOTH Adam and Eve were exiled from Eden (NOT heaven) because of their sins. In the BIble, there are many commandments-- NOT just the ten commandments, which all of us have heard. GOD's first commandment in marriage is "Husbands, love your wives as God loves the Church". In other words, Jesus sacrificed himself to save us, so a husband should sacrifice himself to save his wife, if need be. How do you get the idea that Eve is only 'second best'? God made Eve for Adam so that he would have a helpmate. HE knew that Adam was not complete without a woman. I believe that a woman is the greatest gift that GOD ever gave a man, except for Jesus, who died to pay the penalty for our sins. I believe that all this indicates that GOD is totally AWESOME. Without HIM, we are lost, and destined for HELL. And, believe me, you don't want to be there.
