Very much so. In fact, Israel has more right to exist than any other nation around it, excluding Egypt. Because, aside from egypt, every nation around it has changed it's name and gone through massive changes. It's true that Israel also went through changes (including the division into Israel & Judea) but as a whole, Israel only ever was deleted when the Romans crushed it. And it's remake after WWII is a continuation of the past history is had. Also, Palestine never existed as a nation. Palestine was actually more of a sector, or provincial type thing, used by the romans to refer to that area of the middle east as a conglomerate. Thus the Palestinians have no right whatsoever to cry out that it is their homeland. So, it was more than generous for the Israeli's to even give the Palestinians land, they didn't have to, but they hoped it would slow the terrorism.
As for fighting terrorism....What did the US do when terrorists attacked? We fought back. Israel is doing the same thing, but since the media decides to go on the words of other nations, such as terrorist-supporting Pakistan, Israel is put under a bad spotlight. But they have all the rights that we have as US citizens to fight Islamic terrorism, or any terrorism for that matter. Even if it means bringing the fight to the terrorists home country. (Such as the lebanese hezbollah insurgents)

Yes Israel has the right to exist and the right to fight terrorism. The problem comes from Israels paranoia and seeing terrorists in innocents. How many innocent ppl who only want to raise families, hold jobs, etc have been knowingly killed in retaliatory strikes? When does a country become the exact same thing they are fighting against? Israel has sunk almost to the point of the terrorists they're going after.

Yes, because Israel soooo has the right to kill 300+ people and bomb a country for over fourteen days to "defend itself".
I was listening to something interesting back in 2002. A Muslim man said "Pretty soon, Israel will attack a country and claim that it was only defending itself". Funny how that happened.
Israel has beef with Hezbollah. Hezbollah does not represent Lebanon. Israel has no right to punish the Lebonese people because of the actions Islamic miltant group, albeit a Shiite one.
The phrase "Islamic Terrorism" is an oxymoron. Islam comes from the root word Salam, which means peace. Islamic terrorism = peaceful terrorism. Yes, makes no sense, right?
Israel can exist all it wants for all we care, but no one is going to turn a blind eye to their acts of aggression.

Has a right to exist? Yes. Has a right to fight terrorism? Yes. What's terrororism? Instilling terror in the hearts and minds of a people. Who does that? The people that kill or threaten to kill another people. Is the act of bombing working? Maybe not. Is the act of bombing an act of terror? In one sense of the word, yes. Is this approach to life going to work? Probably not. Do we support giving up and giving in? No.
So, what to do?
The hard part, I've found, is whenever we talk about it, most people ask us to suspend reason while they talk. They insert a lot of true statements with some of their dogma, and we buy into the whole thing.
I think about the lessons of the ancients defending their lands, women and children. Would I support their purpose? You betcha. When it's in my day and age? Kind of harder when I can see the women and children of the other side killed too.
War's never clean. What do we do? We remain compassionate for all those suffering, we stand for peace in our daily lives, we realize that the process of war is a process we'll either sustain or oppose. But, never because of racist motives. Never out of fear-based motives. We act because we are given the right to act and think. We have a chance to create peace on earth, we have a chance to combat terror. We combat terror through authentic connection with all peoples along the path. We break down the personal beariers that there becomes no political or military threat.
A process, to be sure.
I've been reading Gandhi's autobiography again. This man created miracles through the power of his word, through his integrity, through his Satyagraha (love force). He created friends where there were enemies. He freed nearly a billion people without picking up a rifle because he had the courage to stand for something.
When we are afraid, we pick up our rifles. When we are clear, we find another way. Let's you and me, who don't have rifles in our hands right now, find another way. That, or our children will be picking up the rifles soon.

If Israel wants to exist it needs to :
(a) Begin abiding by the many U.N. directorates it has failed to comply with since it's post-WWII inception.
(b) Stop and mistreating Muslims.
(c) Actively work towards peace, rather than claiming to be peaceful while hiring assassins and killing innocents.

Isreal has a right to defend themselves and from anyone to take their land. It belongs to them. Hezabullah should have stayed away. They had no business in Isreal or to take any Isrealites captive.
