After killing all of the men...
As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies.

I know it's an old question, but I really don't understand it. Please help me out.

ID is about the 'Watchmaker' - 'A complex creation like a watch requires a watchmaker'. Fine, okay, sure. But why is God exempt from this? 'Who created God?' is a pointless question - I agree. But it becomes a practical question if somebody is telling you that the universe is too complex to have formed independently.

Why should I then accept that God is _not_ too complex to have formed independently?

Please do not use "free will" I'm familliar with that and when used in conjuction with an omnipotent deity, it only creates a paradox. Besides, there's imperfections in our solar system where man has never been.

When I use mine I imagine very attractive males and females fondling me and taking turns using my body to satisfy their rather savage and beastlike needs. I see an ocean of sweat running off my belly onto the ground. The sweat is so cold when it drops from their faces in my imaginery transcendant state.? Is this an evil thing?

your motivation to be moral?

Would you still be 'good' if there weren't going to be any more consequences?

What motivation would you have to avoid 'evil' acts if there were no more repercussions?

*** I know how you all have a hard time thinking hypothetically about god doing anything other than your narrow perception of him. But as he is supposedly the all powerful, omnipotent creator of everything, he could literally DO ANYTHING and that includes any in any hypothetical question that could be asked.

I spoke in tongues in church after someone laid hands on me. I kept saying Hallelujah until my mouth keep speakin in another language I couldn't understand or even stop from saying. So who thinks I'm full of it? Why would I lie about that?

Would this ancient religion be around today if Christians did not incorporate the Old Testament as the basis of theirs.

In other words would Judaism have gone the way of the other religions of that time.

Please don't give me a knee-jerk response - think about it for a moment.

Does the "christian" go strait to heaven after they die? If not, why do they say when someone dies "they are in a better place"? or "they are in heaven" or "they are with the Lord".? What is judgement day than? If he judges all the living and DEAD on that day, does he scoop the ones out already in heaven to get rejudged or are they the exception to judgement day?

Do any of you read all the verses that are cut and pasted as an answer for your questions? I would much rather give a small scripture and why I believe it, or how I interpret it, instead of huge amounts of king James, that probably doesn't get read anyway. Just my thoughts. I like to read solid reasoning, so I can understand people and know what is going on.

Suppose that evolution is right and your theory that God didnt make the universe and their isnt a higher being. What is your outlook on peace here on earth?

People with faith believe:
God will wipe out death, war, sickness, crime, etc...and restore the earth to a paradise

Evolutionist, would you rather believe in God and wait for the day that God executes judgement on the wicked and rid ourselves of problems?

Or, would you not believe and see the Earth get worse and worse without no hope of stopping and with more crime, death, war etc...?

Because, lets face it...governments for over 6000 yrs have proven that they can't do it right and we as humans can barely live or survive

What is your take?
