..Why Do People Still Believe It?
In the past, people could at least plead ignorance of modern science, I mean, we've accepted the Earth is not flat and revolves around the Sun.

I love Philippians 4, especially vs. 4, 6,8,10 &13. They're good memory verses. This chapter talks about not worrying, praying and trusting, keeping our minds on godly things, being content, and rejoicing in God.

What are some of the ways to disconvert someone from Christianity in America in 2006?

I've known people who lived under a government that told people to go to one church or go to prison. In our free-market culture (of ideas and economics) of course people regularly come across religious things they may not agree with, but how is that "forcing"? They seem very different to me.

I am teaching children's Sunday School for the first time this Sunday and am doing it on the Fruits of the Spirit. I am going to explain that there are some things that we should not have in our lives or we won't be able to produce the fruit that the Lord wants us to. Because there are 9 fruits of the spirit I need 9 bad things we should try NOT to have in our lives and have come up with 8: Hatred, lying, stealing, greed, cheating, selfishness, arrogance, jealousy and I need ONE more...any help would be greatly appreciated.

evolution and the scientic beginning of earth dont bother me. i dont think those things have to disagree with the bible.

but this DOES bother me.

in the bible it says that a new Jerusalem will descend from heaven down onto earth. and the new heaven and new earth will last forever. however, all you have to do is look anywhere in our HUGE universe to see that solar systems do not last forever. eventually the sun is going to die out and possibly engulf the earth before it does. but before that even happens the gravitational pull of the moon will slow down the rotation of the earth so the length of a day on earth will be 40 times longer!

and why is the universe so huge? why are there billions upon billions of planets?

i realize that God makes the knowledge of man look foolish. ...but still! these things dont make ANY sense to me.

would someone help me out with this please?

"because god doesnt exist" will get you reported.

however any thoughtful answer are welcome.

A while back there was a big thing with a picture of muhamed or mohamed, what ever his name is. Muslims got enraged and were protesting and what not. Our own government condemned the cartoon and even the media would not show it saying it was insesitive and offensive. Why is that anyway, people victimize the image of jesus everyday and not a lot of attention would be paid to it, what are we afraid of here?

I have seen many atheists post questions expressing anger that Christian icons are being sold in stores like Kmart. I have also heard people say that if we sell one book (the Bilble) then we should also sell all other holy books. I was just wondering if any christian would be offended if they went in to Kmart and found the Koran for sale.

He always did his show at the hotel I worked for and suckered so many people into giving him $$$$. He used to stay in our $2,500/night suite and have all kinds of nice fine wines and food brought to his room. He would have limosine service and live like a king. He always brought is entourage with him to service him during his stay. All these people in wheelchairs and walking sticks would come to see him to hopefully get healed. I will tell you this, I never found a wheelchair, walking stick, cane, blind persons stick, etc. left after any of his sermons.

Why, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms? Why is not all nature in confusion, instead of the species being, as we see them, well defined?… But, as by this theory innumerable transitional forms must have existed, why do we not find them embedded in countless numbers in the crust of the earth?… But in the intermediate region, having intermediate conditions of life, why do we not now find closely-linking intermediate varieties?

Exodus 21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

Am I only allowed to sell my daughters into slavery or can I get rid of my sons too?

Its my understanding that they have found that people in different regions of the world have different digestive enzymes that have evolved in humans as a result of different diets. That is to say that they can prove that these differences didn't always exist and over the course of time people have adapted and developed these differences. aka survival of the fittest. This is the proof of evolution asked for by so many on this site.

I admire them because they are non-conformists and they are usually very intelligent. I spend at least an hour every day on Witchcraft, and while Witchcraft does make me happy and spiritually at peace, I sometimes wonder: "If I was an atheist and not a devout Pagan, I would spend my time improving my brain than being a Witch."

What can I do about this? I love being a Pagan, please don't get me wrong. Paganism brought meaning to my life. I just wish I were as smart as I am spiritual.

I know it says in there myth book that they would be "persecuted" for being christians, but i guess the myth book was wrong cause there the least persecuted out of any religion. And dont listen to the lies that all christians say, the truth is there not persecuted in any country. The only time they get something is when they go to foreign countries and try and convert them with there missionaries, and the people there dont wanna hear there garbage and so the christians get what they were asking for, but they brought that on themselves and thats not persecution, if they dont want that then they should mind there own business. So why exactly do all you christians love complaining that your so persecuted when in fact your the least persecuted of all the beliefs and your the majority? Explain that

Even before I was a christian I never put people down for their beliefs, I just didn't feel the way they did. I now am a christian but I am still a human being. I enjoy listening to and talking to other people and I don't think I have the ablity to change them. If someone was interested in my belief I would talk to them about what I have been through. Why so much hate?
