In the Eastern Orthox tradition, women are allowed to be deaconesses - but they are not allowed to become priests. The rationale goes all the way back to the Old Testament where men were chosen to serve God. Jesus Christ was a man. The Orthodox talk about allowing women to serve as deaconesses, but there is no prohibition.
Roman Catholics also bar women from the priesthood for essentially identical reasons.
As for other denominations, there is no scriptural, traditional or any other justification for women to be ordained as priests.
Hope this helps.

The Bible says they shouldn't be behind a pulpit but yet there are cases, very rare, where that God will send a woman out to do His work.
I believe Aimee Semple McPherson was used of God.
Also Joan of Arc was used of God.
There are missionary women that go out into jungles and things that believe that they have God's permission to preach to the natives.
God is His Word but He can tell someone to do something contrary to His Word IF He so desires.
For instance, David was not a high priest but when he was hungry, he went into the temple and ate the bread.
He wouldn't have dared unless God told him it was okay.
I personally wouldn't go to a church that had a woman preacher because I believe it's contrary to God's Word, but there are cases...but those woman better be 100%sure that they are God-sent or else they are DIS-obeying God.
But I sure do hate to see these televangelists and women "teachers' wearing pants when the Holy Scriptures speak against that, and having short hair when the Scriptures also speak against that.
If they can't even get their ABC's of God's commandments, how are they going to be a
Scriptural example of God's Word?

My feeling is that smart women can do anything they want. Real adversity comes when the chips are down and you don't know if you can accomplish things. Then you persevere and conquer. You don't need an audience either, you can do it yourself and be proud!
Pod ppl above me sounds alot like an entrepreneur I know... hmmm ;-)

Anybody who is called to be there, belongs in the pulpit.
The Bible says that God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh and that we are all the same.

I will give the same answer for women that I give for men: It depends on their agenda. If the agenda is to change the word of God, or ignore Jesus Christ or bash men, then no. If their agenda is to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, then yes.

My feeling is No. I am a woman but I feel that God leads me to believe...YES, women are used in leadership roles, especially leaders of other women, but I don't think they are to lead men, as it says in God's Word.

They should talk or give a prayer. They should not preside or administer the ordinances of the gospel.
